Clearfield Expands Wireless Infrastructure Market Reach Through Distribution Agreement with WAV

Agreement expands access to Clearfield fiber, power, and wireless network infrastructure across the U.S. and Canada

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Clearfield, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLFD), a leader in fiber connectivity solutions for telecom, data center, and network infrastructure environments, today announced a distribution alliance with WAV, a full-service distributor serving wireless service providers, WISPs, and other connectivity-focused customers across the U.S. and Canada. The alliance supports Clearfield’s strategy to expand its presence in the wireless market as fiber, power, and active infrastructure move deeper into the network.

The wireless infrastructure segments Clearfield is targeting represent a significant growth opportunity. The U.S. metro core, wireless backhaul, indoor and outdoor distributed antenna system (DAS), and small cell markets are projected to total approximately $78 billion by 2030. As operators continue to expand and densify wireless networks, those investments are driving greater demand for fiber, power, and supporting infrastructure throughout the network.

Through WAV, customers will have access to Clearfield’s complete product portfolio, with a particular focus on solutions supporting wireless network deployments, including the FieldSmart® FiberFlex 1700 active cabinet, TetherSmart™ Multi-Fiber Terminal, and Fault Managed Power solutions.

As Clearfield further expands its wireless channel presence, WAV provides an established path to the customers Clearfield wants to reach. With distribution locations across the U.S. and Canada and longstanding expertise serving WISPs, wireless service providers, and other connectivity-focused customers, WAV brings the reach, technical knowledge, and customer relationships to support Clearfield’s expansion. WAV’s experience in the wireless market also gives Clearfield a distributor that already understands the customers and requirements of these deployments.

“Wireless networks depend on fiber at more points than ever before, and that creates an opportunity for Clearfield to bring the same focus on simplifying deployment that we’ve long brought to broadband," said Marc Temple, Vice President of Channels & Strategic Alliances at Clearfield. “WAV understands wireless customers, the environments they operate in, and the technical challenges they face. That makes WAV an ideal alliance as we expand the reach of our fiber, power, and infrastructure solutions to help customers simplify increasingly complex deployments.”

Beyond product distribution, WAV will serve as an extension of Clearfield’s go-to-market capabilities by providing solution guidance on top of inventory and logistics support. WAV’s wireless expertise will help customers identify and configure Clearfield solutions around specific deployment requirements rather than sourcing individual network components independently.

For wireless providers, the relationship offers another source of expertise as deployments bring together fiber connectivity, pathways, enclosures, cabinets, and power infrastructure in more parts of the network.

“Wireless operators are being asked to manage more infrastructure at the edge, often bringing fiber, power, and active equipment together in the same deployment,” said Norm Dumbroff, Chief Executive Officer of WAV. “Clearfield gives our customers a broader set of options for addressing those requirements, backed by the technical expertise and support they already rely on from WAV.”
