Evers & Sons Launches Engineering Division, Naming Ben Schwenk Vice President of Engineering

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Evers & Sons Inc. today announced the launch of its new Engineering Division and the appointment of Ben Schwenk as Vice President of Engineering. This milestone represents a significant step in its long-term strategy toward becoming a fully integrated EPC company.

The addition of Engineering extends Evers & Sons' involvement earlier in the project lifecycle, connecting design and front-end planning with the company's established field experience. The division will be built around a construction-driven philosophy focused on developing practical, constructable designs that reduce project risk, improve fabrication and field productivity, and provide greater cost and schedule certainty from concept through operation.

Evers & Sons' Engineering Division will work closely with the company's project management and field operations teams, allowing engineering decisions to remain connected to the demands of estimating, material planning, fabrication, installation, commissioning, maintenance and field execution. The approach is designed to bring engineering and construction expertise together earlier, when decisions can have the greatest impact on constructability, material accuracy, productivity and overall project outcome.

Initial efforts will emphasize fabrication detailing and spool design, constructability, material accuracy and front-end project planning, with the division expanding its capabilities as personnel, licensing, technology and customer demand continue to develop. The broader engineering scope of services is expected to span across process and mechanical engineering, piping design, pipeline engineering, civil and structural engineering, electrical engineering, instrumentation and controls, facility modifications, field verification and as-built documentation.

Introducing Ben Schwenk, Vice President of Engineering

The new division will be led by Ben Schwenk, Vice President of Engineering. With more than 37 years in the energy sector, Schwenk brings a strong background in engineering, project execution and executive leadership. Most recently, he served in a Senior Vice President role overseeing operations and the delivery of large-scale programs.

Throughout his career, Schwenk has worked on both the owner/operator and engineering-contractor sides of the industry. His roles have included executive leadership, business development, engineering management, project management and project engineering. His work has taken him across the United States, Saudi Arabia, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, supporting projects from early planning and design through procurement, construction, startup and operations.

Schwenk also spent more than 22 years owning and leading an engineering and design firm serving the energy industry. He managed multidisciplinary teams supporting natural gas production, facilities infrastructure, hydrogen and renewable energy projects. His broad industry perspective will help shape the new division and strengthen the connection between engineering and field execution at Evers & Sons.
