Caregiver Action Network and CareScout Partner to Expand Support for America’s Family Caregivers

Partnership will connect caregivers with planning resources, care navigation support and trusted aging care guidance

WASHINGTON & RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Caregiver Action Network (CAN), the nation’s leading family caregiver organization, and CareScout today announced a new partnership to help family caregivers better plan for and navigate aging, long-term care and caregiving decisions.

The partnership comes as millions of Americans balance careers, raising children and caring for aging loved ones. More than 63 million Americans serve as family caregivers, yet many are forced to make high-stakes decisions with little preparation and limited access to trusted support. As lifespans increase and the population ages, the need for accessible, credible caregiving guidance continues to grow.

Through the collaboration, CAN’s caregiver community will gain access to CareScout’s care planning resources, helping families make informed decisions earlier and avoid crisis-driven choices. CareScout resources will be integrated across CAN’s ecosystem, including the National Caregiver Help Desk, educational webinars, newsletters, digital tools and awareness campaigns.

“Family caregivers are often thrust into incredibly complex situations with little preparation and few trusted resources,” said Marvell Adams Jr., CEO of Caregiver Action Network. “Our partnership with CareScout helps us connect caregivers to practical guidance, planning tools and support that can make a meaningful difference for families navigating aging and care decisions.”

As part of the partnership, CAN members will have access to discounted CareScout Care Plans, which are personalized assessments developed by experienced nurses that help families better understand current and future care needs. Caregivers will also be able to connect with CareScout’s care navigation resources and the CareScout Quality Network to help identify support options in their communities.

“Caregiving touches nearly every family, but too many people start planning only after a crisis,” said Samir Shah, CEO of CareScout. “Together with Caregiver Action Network, we’re helping families take action earlier – understanding their options, planning ahead and accessing trusted support so they can make more confident decisions when it matters most.”

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving outcomes for family caregivers and older adults alike. By combining CAN’s leadership in caregiver education and advocacy with CareScout’s expertise in aging care planning and navigation, the organizations aim to help more families prepare for the realities of aging before challenges become crises. Together, CAN and CareScout are working to ensure families have access to the tools, resources and guidance they need to navigate that future with confidence.

As an early example of the collaboration, CAN and CareScout will host a free educational webinar on October 1, 2026, focused on long-term care planning for aging parents. The session will provide practical guidance on starting family conversations about aging, understanding care options, navigating long-distance caregiving challenges and creating a plan for future care needs.
