BoldAge PACE Celebrates National PACE Month, Spotlighting a Comprehensive Care Model Built to Keep Seniors at Home

OCEANPORT, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September marks National PACE Month, a nationwide observance highlighting one of healthcare’s most effective yet underutilized models for older adults. BoldAge PACE is marking the observance across its nine centers nationwide, raising awareness for an all-inclusive care solution that allows nursing-home-eligible seniors to remain independent in their own homes.

“BoldAge PACE came through like a bright light. I’m out of that shell, I’m in the sunlight, I’m doing so much better.” — Rose, BoldAge PACE participant

The observance comes as family caregivers face unprecedented strain. An estimated 63 million Americans currently serve as family caregivers, a 45% increase since 2015, according to AARP and the National Alliance for Caregiving. Most balance full-time employment, child-rearing, and the complex medical needs of an aging loved one. While the vast majority of older adults prefer to age in place, few families know that an all-inclusive, fully coordinated model exists to make that viable.

BoldAge PACE delivers a complete alternative to nursing home placement. The program unifies primary and specialty medical care, prescription drugs, physical therapy, social day programs, in-home support, and door-to-door transportation under a single, interdisciplinary care team. For individuals who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, PACE services are covered with zero out-of-pocket costs.

"National PACE Month is an opportunity to show families that nursing home placement isn't their only option," said Glenn Steigbigel, Chief Executive Officer of BoldAge PACE. "Caregivers are burning out trying to navigate a fragmented healthcare system on their own. BoldAge PACE integrates every aspect of medical and social care under one roof, giving older adults the support they need to live safely, independently, and with dignity at home."

Participant outcomes underscore the impact of the model. Rose, a participant at BoldAge PACE in North Charleston, faced years of chronic health issues and isolation before enrolling. Her journey is featured in the latest episode of The Bold Way Home podcast: "PACE came through like a bright light. I'm out of that shell, I'm in the sunlight, I'm doing so much better."

Throughout September, BoldAge PACE centers will host participant and community events. Families and healthcare professionals can hear first-hand accounts on The Bold Way Home, the organization's documentary-style podcast featuring real participant stories. Episodes are available monthly on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and at BoldAgePACE.com/podcast.
