Kaplan’s Launches Advanced SAT® Course Designed to Unlock 1450+ Scores and Help Students Get into Top Colleges and Universities

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Ivies, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Florida, and the University of Texas at Austin are among the many highly selective colleges and universities where an SAT score of around 1450 is an important benchmark for prospective students. But for those who are already close to their target score, making those final gains can require a different approach, which is why global education company Kaplan has launched its Advanced Track Live Online course. The course is designed specifically for top-performing students who have already achieved a baseline SAT score of 1250 or higher on an official or practice exam, and features an advanced curriculum focused exclusively on developing the high-level reasoning and problem-solving skills required to master its most challenging questions.

This course launch comes amid a growing number of test-optional colleges and universities deciding to reinstate their standardized testing requirements, or publicly considering it, including Columbia University and the University of California system. And according to Kaplan’s most recent college admissions officers survey, that trend continues. Approximately 15 percent of admissions officers at test-optional schools said their institutions are considering reinstating the requirement or have definite plans to do so, about double the percentage from the previous year. Kaplan’s survey also found that among these same test-optional schools, about two-thirds say if a student submits a competitive college admissions exam score, it helps their application.

Sarah Seymour, executive director, college admissions programs, Kaplan, said:

“With many highly selective colleges and universities reporting historically low acceptance rates and stiff competition among applicants, students are looking for every opportunity to strengthen their applications and stand out in the admissions process. Kaplan’s Advanced Track Course helps them get there with a rigorous, advanced curriculum designed to elevate performance, maximize SAT potential, and strengthen their college application.”

Kaplan stands behind all its comprehensive SAT preparation with one of the industry's strongest score guarantees. Students enrolled in eligible comprehensive SAT prep courses who do not improve their score are eligible for either a full refund or the opportunity to retake their course at no additional cost.
