Solace Health Expands Access to Healthcare Advocacy Through Walmart’s Better Care Services Platform

New offering gives Walmart customers access to a dedicated healthcare advocate, with services covered by insurance for eligible customers nationwide

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Solace Health (Solace), the leading healthcare advocacy platform, today announced it is now available through Walmart’s Better Care Services platform. Customers browsing the virtual care section of Walmart’s site will now find Solace listed among available care options and can be matched with a health advocate of their own. Solace advocacy services may be covered by insurance.

“People shouldn’t have to discover advocacy at their lowest moment. Now they can find it in a place they already visit on an ordinary day,” said Jeremy Gurewitz, CEO and co-founder of Solace.

U.S. adults spend the equivalent of an eight-hour workday every month* coordinating healthcare for themselves or their families; most of it is administrative work that happens between appointments rather than during them. A Solace advocate takes that work on by finding specialists, booking appointments, retrieving and organizing medical records, joining doctor’s visits remotely, keeping physicians on the same page, and resolving insurance issues.

“When someone gets a diagnosis, or a parent is coming home from the hospital, they often don’t realize an advocate is even an option,” said Jeremy Gurewitz, CEO and co-founder of Solace. “People shouldn’t have to discover advocacy at their lowest moment. Now they can find it in a place they already visit on an ordinary day.”

“Helping customers live better includes making healthcare easier to navigate,” said Leslie Fletcher, Vice President, Strategy and Partnerships, Walmart U.S. Health & Wellness. “By adding Solace to Better Care Services, we’re connecting customers with personalized support that can help take complexity out of the healthcare experience and make it easier to get the care they need.”

Solace advocates are registered nurses and other healthcare professionals with an average of 16 years of experience in healthcare. Each patient works with the same dedicated advocate throughout their journey, connecting however works best for them: by phone, video, text, or email.

Better Care Services connects Walmart customers with third-party care options, making care more accessible and convenient, so customers can find support that fits their needs. Solace joins the platform as a healthcare advocacy option, giving customers a way to handle the parts of care that happen outside the doctor’s office.
