Humana Foundation Names 2026 Scholarship Recipients

Children of 18 Louisville-based employees and 80 nationwide awarded scholarships for 2026-27 school year

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Humana Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), today announced 80 winners of college scholarships awarded through the Humana Foundation Scholarship Program.

Scholarships provide up to $3,000 for postsecondary education, including degree, vocational and technical programs, for children of Humana employees. Annual awards are renewable for up to three years or until completion of a degree or program with a total possible award of $12,000.

This year’s scholarship recipients were selected from a total of 581 applicants nationwide and chosen based on a combination of academic achievement, leadership ability and financial need. Applicants are eligible for the scholarship program if they are a high school senior or graduate, or a college student enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study during the upcoming fall semester.

The Humana Foundation’s scholarship program is also now in its fourth year of expanded eligibility for applicants attending accredited vocational and technical schools in the United States or Puerto Rico. Previously, only applicants enrolled in two- or four-year colleges were able to apply.

In addition to this year’s 80 new scholarship winners, 174 students renewed their scholarship from the 2025 academic year.

Since 2001, the Humana Foundation has awarded more than $15.7 million to assist 1,800-plus children of Humana employees in their pursuit of higher education.

Brandi Jackson-Hilts, a Senior Provider Engagement Professional for Humana’s Healthy Resolutions team in Louisiana, is the mother of 2026 scholarship winner, Isaiah Hilts Jr., who will attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to study Business Management in the fall.

“My family and I are truly grateful for the opportunity to receive this scholarship,” said Brandi. “It has helped ease some of the financial burden on our family, especially with having two students in college at the same time, which can be financially challenging. This will support Isaiah as he works toward completing his college degree and continuing to build a strong foundation for his future.”
