As Metrie celebrates 100 years in business, the event reflected values that have been part of the company for generations: giving back, building strong relationships and supporting the communities where it operates.

"As we celebrate 100 years in business, we're reflecting not only on how far we've come, but on the role we want to play in the communities we serve," said Kent Bowie, President and CEO of Metrie. "Supporting organizations like Habitat for Humanity is one of the most tangible ways we can bring our purpose to life. Having a safe and affordable home creates stability and we're proud to work alongside our industry partners to help more families achieve that."

"We are grateful to our industry partners like Metrie who are committed to supporting Habitat’s mission,” said Pedro Barata, President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada. “Habitat Build Days are a wonderful opportunity to see the impact of your support first-hand and know that you are helping build not only a home – but a strong foundation for a family’s future.”

The day offered an opportunity for industry partners to step away from their regular roles and come together in support of a local family.

"What made this experience special was seeing so many organizations come together around a common goal," said Rabia Dhanani, Merchandising Manager, Home Hardware. "It's not often you get to work alongside customers, suppliers and industry peers for something bigger than business. That's what made the day so rewarding."

Suppliers shared a similar perspective, describing the build as an opportunity to step away from day-to-day business and work together toward something that will have a lasting benefit for local families.

"This project represents the very best of our industry," said Rachel Marcon, President of Owens Corning’s Doors Business. "We spend a lot of time working together across the industry, but rarely in this kind of setting. Seeing everyone roll up their sleeves for the same cause made the day especially memorable."

"Affordable housing is about much more than a roof over someone's head," added Scott Orr, Senior Director of Sales at CTI. "You're helping create a place where a family can put down roots, build memories and look ahead with confidence."

As Metrie looks ahead to its next 100 years, the company remains committed to supporting organizations and initiatives that make a lasting difference where its employees, customers and partners live and work.
