Baker Tilly Names Vijay Anand Chief AI and Technology Officer

New leadership role advances firm’s strategy to turn AI investment into differentiated client capabilities

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Baker Tilly, a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm, announced today that Vijay Anand will join the firm as chief AI and technology officer, effective Aug. 31. Anand will report to CEO Eric Miles and serve on Baker Tilly’s Senior Leadership Team.

In the newly created role, Anand will lead Baker Tilly’s AI roadmap, innovation agenda and related technology capabilities, with a focus on turning AI opportunities into products and capabilities that deliver measurable client and business outcomes.

“AI is rapidly reshaping our industry and creating new possibilities for how we serve clients,” Miles said. “Vijay brings a combination of technology, product and transformation experience that builds on the momentum already underway at Baker Tilly. His leadership will help us accelerate our AI strategy, scale differentiated capabilities and create new sources of value for our clients.”

Anand brings more than 30 years of experience leading technology, product innovation and business transformation at organizations including senior leadership roles at Intuit, Oracle and Sun Microsystems. Most recently, he ran a strategic advisory firm helping PE-backed organizations in regulated industries turn AI strategy into practical, scalable capabilities.

He has already been working with Baker Tilly on strategic initiatives focused on using AI to create new value for clients and strengthen the firm’s competitive position, including work connected to Baker Tilly’s recently announced collaboration with Ode with Anthropic.

As chief AI and technology officer, Anand will lead the development of AI products and capabilities for Baker Tilly and its clients. His team will focus on building reusable technology and tools that allow the firm to move promising ideas to market more quickly and efficiently, while establishing clear measures to evaluate those investments based on outcomes such as adoption, productivity, financial impact and client value.

“Baker Tilly has deep industry expertise and a clear opportunity to pair that knowledge with AI in ways that solve real client problems,” Anand said. “The focus is not technology for technology’s sake. It is identifying where AI can make a meaningful difference, building those capabilities with discipline and bringing them to clients in ways that deliver measurable results.”

Anand’s appointment marks the next phase of Baker Tilly’s AI strategy as the firm increases its investment in developing differentiated products and capabilities for clients while continuing to use AI to equip its team members and transform core business processes.
