J Press FP790’s adaptability and precision offer a great match for Quantum’s flexible packaging business model

HANOVER PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Business Innovation Division, today announced the first U.S. purchase of its FUJIFILM J Press™ FP790 Digital Flexible Packaging Press by Quantum Flex Pack, LLC, based in Rockford, Illinois. This sale represents the sixth J Press™ FP790 sale globally since the product’s launch.

“I am incredibly proud that Quantum Flex Pack is the first company in North America to purchase the J Press™ FP790,” said Brian Batease, CEO, Quantum Flex Pack LLC. “This acquisition represents a major leap forward in our capabilities and underscores our commitment to investing in the most advanced flexible packaging technology available. We are truly excited to be at the forefront of this innovation and look forward to delivering unmatched quality, efficiency, and value to our customers.”

“When it comes to flexible packaging, an ever-growing variety of new products and shorter delivery times are rapidly changing market dynamics,” said Yuji Oki, general manager, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Business Innovation Division. “J Press™ FP790 was created to meet these high market demands, achieving both high-quality print output and adhering to the strict regulatory requirements of the packaging business, while facilitating a strategic and profitable packaging business. • Runs at a print speed of 164 feet per minute with a maximum substrate width of 31 inches, irrespective of the ink colors
  • Using 1200 X 1200 dpi resolutions with CMYK inks, J Press™ FP790 achieves Pantone colors without more costly spot color inks, while also using two white ink channels for delivering high white opacity
  • Water-based inks with 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi resolution for sharp, high-quality images
  • An integrated inspection tower for real-time quality control
  • Reductions in lead times, thanks to the elimination of setup requirements
  • Produces ultra-high quality and wider gamut print quality, making it possible to convert or work in collaboration with analog flexo and rotogravure jobs to digital
  • Fits easily into existing flexible packaging production processes
  • Fujifilm employs water-based primers and inkjet technologies, which enhances a more sustainable output solution. The J Press™ FP790 also reduces waste and the number of consumables used as associated with traditional analog production of a similar nature
