AI Sold a Company. Now Montauk AI Is Opening Up a Market Assessment to 48,000 Companies
Montauk AI, which now has more than $100 million in assets under mandate, is opening its Market Assessment to every home health, home care, and hospice owner in America through September 29.
MONTAUK, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--One year ago, Montauk AI quietly did something no one has ever done before: it sold a real company to a public acquirer through a series of agents and its proprietary transaction platform. The industry is still catching up to what that means. The firm now has more than $100 million in assets under mandate across home care, home health, and hospice, and the companies it represents are published at montaukai.com/listings. Now the firm is opening up a Market Assessment to 48,000 companies.
"We are on a mission to cut transaction times by 70 percent. A sector where owners cannot exit is a sector that stops attracting capital, and this industry deserves better and faster than that”

The Pennant Group announced the deal and credited Montauk AI as the placement agent on the GrandCare transaction in its press release. The entire transaction happened over a transaction platform, with buyers getting data portals that served as the investment memo and agents answering financial and diligence questions. Price alignment happened over software, and the deal closed well ahead of a traditional timeline.
The deal had huge implications for an industry made up of roughly 30,000 home care agencies, 11,000 certified home health agencies, and 7,000 hospice providers. It is a large market, and almost none of it ever reaches a buyer. A traditional sell-side process is too slow and too expensive for most owners, leaving those who built these companies sitting on the sidelines.
Jarrett Bauer, who founded Health Recovery Solutions and now Montauk AI, said, “GrandCare was the proof point of what an AI can do. We are on a mission to cut transaction times by 70 percent. By opening a Market Assessment, we are providing new levels of access.” Through September 29, 2026, every home health, home care, and hospice owner in America can use the company’s Market Assessment.
The company spent years building software that replaced work twenty people once did by hand. “A sector where owners cannot exit is a sector that stops attracting capital, and this industry deserves better and faster than that,” said Bauer.
