Biograph Establishes Comprehensive Women’s Health Program, Expanding Personalized Preventive Care Across Every Life Stage

The new program integrates female-specific health history, personalized hormone testing, a comprehensive risk assessment, menopause care, and tailored nutrition and exercise guidance into Biograph’s physician-led preventive health model across its Core and Black tier memberships.

SAN MATEO, Calif. & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Biograph, the world’s most advanced preventive health and diagnostics clinic, today announced the integration of its Women's Health Program, a comprehensive approach designed to address gaps in women’s healthcare.

According to a 2024 report, U.S. women had a life expectancy of 80 years in 2022, at least two years shorter than women in each of the 13 comparator countries examined, and experienced the highest rate of avoidable mortality among those countries. These findings underscore persistent gaps in women’s health outcomes and the need for more comprehensive, preventive, and proactive approaches to women's healthcare.

Fully integrated into Biograph’s evidence-based preventive care model for both Core and Black tier members, the Women’s Health Program incorporates a female-specific health history form, personalized hormone evaluation, a comprehensive risk assessment, and nutrition and exercise guidance. Together, these components help women better understand how reproductive history, hormonal transitions, lifestyle, and other factors shape long-term cardiovascular, metabolic, bone, cognitive, and cancer health.

“Women's health is deeply interconnected, but the way we deliver care often isn't," said Dr. Yihan Chen, physician at Biograph. “A woman's menstrual and reproductive history, her hormonal shifts through the menopause transition, her cardiovascular, metabolic, and bone health – these aren't separate stories. They intersect in complex ways to shape her long-term health. Our Women's Health Program brings these pieces together, combining advanced diagnostics with personalized clinical guidance to help women see the full picture and take proactive steps to improve both how they feel today and where their health is headed.”

The menopause care gap also remains significant. In a cross-sectional study of 4,914 midlife U.S. women, 34% reported moderate to very severe menopause symptoms, yet approximately 87% of those women did not seek medical care. Additionally, symptoms are frequently not recognized as menopause-related. Beyond hot flashes, common features include mood changes, cognitive changes, sleep disruption, low libido, bone loss, increased abdominal fat, and adverse metabolic changes, with the link to menopause remaining elusive.

Life stages such as pregnancy and menopause can provide important insights into a woman’s future health. Yet these signals may be addressed across different providers, specialties, and points in time rather than considered together as part of a longitudinal health strategy. Biograph’s Women’s Health Program is designed to integrate these signals into a comprehensive assessment of current health and future risk.

The program includes:

  • Female-Specific Health History: A comprehensive health analysis that incorporates reproductive history, menstrual and menopausal status, pregnancy history, family history, and other female-specific factors that influence long-term health.
  • Personalized Hormone Evaluation and Risk Assessment: Hormone testing is personalized based on each woman's symptoms, reproductive stage, and medical history. These results are interpreted alongside advanced imaging and laboratory testing to develop an integrated assessment of cardiovascular, metabolic, bone, cognitive, and cancer risk.
  • Lifestyle and Longitudinal Care: Members receive individualized nutrition, exercise, and hormone health guidance tailored to their goals, life stage, and long-term risk profile.

Following a comprehensive evaluation, clinically eligible members may add menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) to their program, as part of Biograph’s prescription management service. Biograph physicians develop a treatment plan and provide ongoing monitoring to help ensure therapy remains safe, effective, and responsive to each member’s needs over time.

By combining advanced diagnostics with physician-led interpretation and longitudinal care, the program delivers a more coordinated approach to prevention. To date, 71% of female Biograph Black tier members have reversed insulin resistance and mitigated their overall risk of lifetime cardiovascular events, when typically these early drivers go undetected. Additionally, among returning female members, 96% report measurable progress toward their health goals.

Biograph currently operates clinics in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area, combining advanced diagnostics with ongoing physician-led care to help members detect disease earlier and improve long-term health. It delivers a comprehensive experience during a single visit lasting approximately five to six hours – services that traditionally may require nearly three months and visits to nine different medical facilities.
