Geospace Supports Faraday’s Rapid Seismic Fleet Expansion With 4,000-Node Pioneer Order

Repeat Purchase Advances Faraday’s Plan to Build a 40,000-Node Fleet by 2028

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Geospace Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: GEOS) today announced the delivery of 4,000 Pioneer land seismic acquisition nodes to Faraday Geophysics, an integrated geophysical services and technology company operating across the Americas.

“Pioneer is helping us put that capacity on the ground. It is lightweight, reliable and easy to deploy—the kind of equipment that works for our crews and delivers for our customers,"said Lindsay Wadsworth, President of Faraday Geophysics Canada.

The purchase increases Faraday’s owned Pioneer fleet from 3,000 to 7,000 nodes and represents the next stage of a significant fleet-expansion program. Faraday intends to acquire an additional 3,000 nodes before November 2026, bringing its near-term inventory to 10,000, with a longer-term objective of building a 40,000-node fleet by 2028.

The expansion is being driven by demand for larger and increasingly high-density seismic programs. After purchasing its first 3,000 Pioneer nodes in 2025, Faraday still rented approximately 10,000 additional nodes to fulfill its project requirements.

“Faraday’s repeat order reflects the performance of Pioneer in the field and the growing scale of the programs its teams are executing,” said Rich Kelley, President and CEO of Geospace Technologies. “Pioneer gives seismic contractors a reliable, field-proven geophone in a compact and lightweight form factor. We look forward to working alongside Faraday as it continues building its acquisition capacity.”

“Faraday brings the brisket to the table: experienced field crews, practical technology and an appetite for bigger, denser seismic programs,” said Lindsay Wadsworth, President of Faraday Geophysics Canada. “Pioneer is helping us put that capacity on the ground. It is lightweight, reliable and easy to deploy—the kind of equipment that works for our crews and delivers for our customers. By reducing the crew required to move large numbers of channels, Pioneer strengthens our ability to execute large-scale, ultra-high-density programs efficiently.”

Faraday plans to deploy its growing node fleet on projects across Canada, the United States and South America. Its target markets include helium, oil sands, conventional oil & gas, uranium exploration and carbon storage.

Weighing less than 0.5 kilograms (1 pound), Pioneer is designed for rapid deployment and retrieval across large seismic programs. Its lightweight form factor allows field crews to move more channels with fewer personnel, while its reliability and quality-control software support efficient operations and dependable data acquisition.

Faraday has also successfully deployed Pioneer nodes alongside its new Hurricane eVibe electric seismic source technology on the Bear Lake 2D, which is in the Montney play of Western Canada as a demonstration project. While the technologies operate independently, their field compatibility allows Faraday to combine high-density receiver configurations with a versatile source fleet capable of covering near and far offsets with a reduced operational footprint.

The expanded Pioneer fleet forms part of Faraday’s broader integrated offering, which includes large-scale seismic acquisition, ultra-high-density program execution, electric and conventional source capabilities, and permanent seismic monitoring solutions.

Geospace and Faraday expect to continue working together as Faraday builds its inventory of Pioneer nodes and expands its seismic operations across the Americas.
