Statement From Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic (KJOC) President Daniel Kharazzi Regarding the Passing of Pitching Great Tommy John

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--This past weekend our nation lost a truly great American and baseball lost a titan whose courage and fortitude, in addition to his natural talent, paved the way for others like him to realize the benefits of sports orthopedic medicine. Our late former distinguished co-founder and colleague, Dr. Frank Jobe, collaborated with Tommy to not only allow him to benefit baseball, but help countless others engaged in non-athletic endeavors. Tommy John surgery is now recognized worldwide and KJOC is proud of Dr. Jobe’s role in pioneering this innovative medical procedure.

KJOC, an independent sports orthopedic medical group, will continue to innovate and develop new procedures in orthopedic sports medicine. We strive to honor the traditions and commitment of our founders Dr. Robert Kerlan and Dr. Frank Jobe to foster the practice of sports medicine without interference by outside corporate interests. Such is our mission.
