Kansas City Business Owner Forum, Hosted by Prime Capital Financial, Brings Together Region's Leading Exit Planning Professionals to Help Business Owners Increase Company Value

Free forum equips privately held business owners with practical strategies to build stronger, more transferable businesses — whether an ownership transition is one year or one decade away

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Prime Capital Financial today announced it will host the Kansas City Business Owner Forum on Thursday, September 10, at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel at the Convention Center. The forum is presented through the Kansas City Chapter of the Exit Planning Institute (EPI), a collaborative network of more than 50 experienced advisors. Founded by Prime Capital Financial Partner Mark Kipp, CEPA®, EPI is dedicated to helping privately held business owners maximize their companies' value.

The forum is open to entrepreneurs, founders, and privately held business owners across the Kansas City region. Sessions are designed to give attendees actionable takeaways they can apply immediately at whatever stage their business is in.

Research consistently shows that for most business owners, the majority of their personal net worth is tied to their business. Yet many companies are unprepared for an unexpected transition or are worth less than owners expect when it's time to sell or transfer ownership. The Kansas City Business Owner Forum, themed “Successful to Significant,” is designed to help change that. As organizers note, a significant company is one that is “valuable, transferable, and attractive at any point.”

The program includes:

  • An owner panel featuring insights and advice from successful business owners who’ve grown and sold their companies
  • A session on the key value drivers that create enterprise value
  • Tax strategies designed to help increase profitability and scalability
  • Legal and financial tips for de-risking a business
  • Personal, business, and financial readiness checklists every owner should know
  • Opportunities to connect directly with advisors who help owners build transferable value

Keynote speaker, Joel Malick, is a financial advisor at EverOak Wealth Co. in Colorado Springs, CO and co-author of “Afterwork: An Honest Discussion about the Retirement Lie and How to Live a Future Worthy of Dreams.” He will address what it means to build both a life and a balance sheet worth transitioning into.

“The most successful business exits don't happen by accident. They're the result of years of intentional planning,” said Kipp. “Whether a business owner intends to sell, transfer ownership to family, create an employee ownership plan, or simply build a stronger company, every owner benefits from understanding what drives business value. Our goal is to provide practical education that owners can immediately apply to create a more valuable and resilient business.”

Registration is now open at https://primefinancial.com/event/kansas-city-business-owners-forum/. Check-in and networking begin at 8 a.m. CST, followed by educational presentations from regional business advisors and industry experts through 11 a.m.
