Forbes Names Banner Bank the #1 Bank in California

WALLA WALLA, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Banner Bank leadership team is pleased to announce Forbes has ranked the Bank number one in California on the 2026 list of America's Best-In-State Banks. The annual ranking, developed in partnership with Statista, recognizes banks that earn the highest marks from clients on trust, service, financial advice, digital tools and overall satisfaction.

“We are delighted to receive this recognition from Forbes because it is based on the opinions of our clients and the California communities we serve,” said Mark Grescovich, President & CEO of Banner Bank. “We’ve been serving the West for more than 135 years, but began serving California just over 10 years ago so to know our team has earned this level of recognition after just a decade speaks volumes about the outstanding service and value we deliver every day.”

The ranking reflects client feedback and independent research evaluating trust, customer experience, digital banking capabilities and the quality of financial advice provided by banks across the country. Statista weighted 80% of the overall ranking on survey responses. Participants were asked questions such as how satisfied they were and how likely they were to recommend the U.S.-based banks at which they have a checking or savings account, those at which they had an account within the last three years, and those they knew through friends and family. Additionally, they gathered more than 1.2 million publicly available reviews and ratings online about each bank, written between February 2023 and March 2026. This research was incorporated into the analysis, accounting for the remaining 20% of each bank’s ranking.

On a bank-wide level, Banner also has earned a spot on the Forbes 100 Best Banks in America list for 10 consecutive years, as well as other nationally-recognized accolades for service, financial strength, trust and additional key indicators in the financial services industry.
