Acquisitions of Interstate Barricades & Markings, Alamo Roadway Materials, Traffic Control Products Co., DIJ Construction, and Batterson LLP cement TRP’s leadership across the Central and Southeast U.S.
Acquisitions enable the launch of Gulf Highway Materials, a new thermoplastics division, to supply TRP’s growing pavement marking operations
FT. WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TRP Infrastructure Services (“TRP” or “the Company”), a leading provider of critical roadway pavement marking and traffic control solutions, today announced the acquisitions of Interstate Barricades & Markings (“IBM”), Alamo Roadway Materials (“ARM”), Traffic Control Products Co. (“TCP”), DIJ Construction (“DIJ”), and Batterson LLP (“Batterson”). Each a market leader in its region, the acquired companies expand TRP’s geographic footprint and customer base across the Central and Southeast U.S. and vertically integrate its supply chain through the launch Gulf Highway Materials, a new thermoplastics manufacturing division. TRP is a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners (“Arlington”), a Washington, D.C.-area private investment firm specializing in government-regulated industries.
TRP supports the maintenance of America’s roadways through hundreds of infrastructure projects each year, delivering pavement marking, traffic control and permanent safety installations. These acquisitions will enable the Company to better service customers in Texas, Mississippi, and the broader Southeast while also enabling TRP to launch a new thermoplastic pavement markings production division, Gulf Highway Materials. The new division, which will include three separate manufacturing facilities acquired in this expansion, will serve as a reliable, cost-effective supplier for TRP’s pavement marking projects across the region.
“The Central and Southeast U.S. are among the fastest growing regions in the country, leading to increasing demand on aging roadway infrastructure,” said Michael Lustbader, a Managing Partner at Arlington Capital Partners. “TRP has always been a leader in the Southeast, and since investing in the company in 2021 we have worked with its management team to solidify its position in this key region and expand to meet the demand of adjacent geographies while maintaining our connected footprint. Today’s announcement will reinforce TRP’s competitive advantage and advance its mission of improving the safety of some of the country’s most in-need roadways.”
“At TRP, we are proud of the role we play in making America’s roadways safer,” said TRP CEO Andrew Liebert. “I am grateful to the Clark, Garner, Floyd, and Batterson families, and am excited to welcome their teams to the TRP family. Together, we will serve our collective customer base more effectively while expanding our offerings in the communities where we operate.”
With these acquisitions, the founders of each company will join TRP and continue to lead business activities. Cody Clark, a co-founder of prior IBM and ARM owner Clark Construction, will serve as Vice President of Business Development and Growth of Gulf Highway Materials. David and Wendy Garner, the founders of TCP, will serve as Co-Branch Managers of TRP’s Pearl, MS location, which is TRP’s first location in the state. Kellen Floyd, an owner of DIJ Construction, will serve as Branch Manager of TRP’s Bertram, TX location. Mike and Stacy Batterson, the founders of Batterson, will continue as Branch Manager and Project Manager and Estimator, respectively, for one of TRP’s Houston, TX locations.
“TRP’s expansion reflects Arlington’s commitment to building purpose-driven companies that are essential to the future of America’s infrastructure, which will be increasingly important given the rise in autonomous vehicle technology,” said Mark Giragosian, a Principal at Arlington Capital Partners. “We look forward to working with the expanded TRP team to continue improving American roadways, including developing new safety solutions by investing in automation and robotics technologies that will keep drivers and the workers that maintain this infrastructure safer.”
