United Educators Appoints Dan Reiner as Vice President of Underwriting

BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--United Educators (UE) insurance has appointed Dan Reiner as Vice President of Underwriting, effective Sept. 8.

Reiner brings proven commercial insurance leadership experience spanning underwriting, product development, portfolio management and emerging risk strategy. In his new role, he will help ensure UE continues to deliver thoughtful coverage solutions that evolve alongside the changing needs of K-12 schools, colleges and universities.

“Dan combines technical underwriting expertise with a collaborative leadership style and experience navigating an increasingly complex risk landscape,” UE President and CEO Rick Mills said. “As education faces new and evolving challenges, Dan’s experience will strengthen our ability to provide members with the thoughtful underwriting and trusted partnership on which they depend.”

Reiner joins UE from Chubb, where he spent 19 years advancing from underwriting trainee to Senior Vice President, Territory Underwriting Manager. He led underwriting strategy for complex casualty, technology, cyber, and emerging risks; developed new insurance products; and translated complex risk issues into practical guidance. He was responsible for the financial results for two geographic regions and Chubb’s North American Lower Middle Market technology portfolio.

His prior roles include Senior Vice President of Casualty Underwriting, where he managed the underwriting pillar of Chubb Commercial’s middle market casualty practice and line management of an E&O/Cyber portfolio.

Reiner has a B.S. from Towson University.
