Pursuit Announces First Major Organic Growth Investment at Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa

Three premium rainforest villas represent the first expansion since Pursuit acquired Tabacón in 2025, advancing the company's Vision 2030 growth strategy

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pursuit Attractions and Hospitality, Inc. (NYSE: PRSU) today announced plans to develop three premium guest accommodation villas at Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa, representing the first major organic growth investment at Tabacón since acquiring the award-winning Costa Rican resort in July 2025. The expansion reflects Pursuit's Vision 2030 strategy of creating long-term shareholder value through disciplined organic growth investments that enhance market-leading guest experiences, alongside strategic acquisitions in iconic destinations.

Located within Tabacón’s existing 570-acre resort property, the villas will help guests experience the resort at a deeper level and connect to Costa Rica's largest network of naturally flowing thermal springs, adjacent to the Arenal Volcano National Park protected rainforest reserve. With an anticipated opening in Summer 2027, each of the two-bedroom villas will span 2,250 square feet and feature a private plunge pool and an expansive outdoor terrace nestled within the rainforest.

The expansion enhances Tabacón’s premium offering and long-term value proposition, reinforcing Pursuit’s position in Costa Rica as affluent travelers increasingly seek high-end, nature-based experiences. Leveraging the strong international demand driven by Tabacón’s renowned thermal river attraction, the new accommodation concept directly addresses evolving guest preferences while supporting future growth.

Designed by acclaimed Costa Rican architecture firm Taller KEN, the villas embrace the same philosophy that has guided Tabacón since its founding: working with the rainforest rather than transforming it. Elevated on piles above the forest floor, the structures are designed to immerse guests in the sights, sounds and atmosphere of the surrounding landscape while minimizing their environmental footprint.
