Leading Appellate Lawyer Daniel L. Geyser Joins HSF Kramer

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer) has expanded its Supreme Court and Appellate practice with the addition of Daniel L. Geyser in Washington, DC. Geyser will serve as the firm's Co-Head of Supreme Court and Appellate Litigation, US, alongside Co-Heads Roy T. Englert, Jr. and Daniel N. Lerman.

Having argued 19 cases before the US Supreme Court, including twice last term, Geyser brings one of the most distinguished appellate records in the market and further bolsters the firm’s ability to represent clients in their most complex litigation and appeals.

As part of the firm’s appellate practice in Washington, DC, Geyser will advise clients on high-stakes appeals, Supreme Court litigation and complex disputes. He brings extensive experience representing clients before the nation’s highest courts, with a track record in precedent-setting cases involving bankruptcy, patents, securities, arbitration, consumer protection and ERISA. His victories have included striking down an act of Congress under the Bankruptcy Clause, reshaping arbitration rules nationwide three times in separate cases, and establishing significant new precedents for taxpayers, government contractors and businesses navigating complex regulatory challenges. In the past half-decade, Geyser has had one of the top three highest Supreme Court grant rates in the country, and he ranks among the top 10 private firm lawyers nationwide for total Supreme Court arguments in the same period.

Geyser joins HSF Kramer from Haynes Boone LLP, where he was Chair of the US Supreme Court Practice. His arrival reflects growing client demand for integrated appellate and litigation capabilities delivered through a global platform with deep bench strength across practices and jurisdictions and further strengthens the firm’s Washington presence following the recent addition of prominent antitrust partners David Pearl and John Elias.
