Assent Launches Integration Connector, Enabling Compliance and Sustainability Data Automation Across the Enterprise

New capability connects ERP, PLM, and supply chain systems directly to Assent with automatic, near real-time data updates.

OTTAWA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Assent Inc. (Assent), the manufacturing industry's leading product intelligence network, today announced the Assent Integration Connector. This new capability connects enterprise systems, including ERP, PLM, EHS, and supply chain platforms, directly to Assent. Compliance and sustainability data now updates automatically as changes happen, no longer relying on manual exports that may contain outdated information.

Manufacturers often come to Assent to solve one problem: a resource gap, a hard-to-navigate regulation, a specific requirement like PFAS or conflict minerals reporting. Usually, the real problem runs deeper.

Manufacturers often come to Assent to solve one problem: a resource gap, a hard-to-navigate regulation, a specific requirement like PFAS or conflict minerals reporting. Usually, the real problem runs deeper. It's fragmented product and supply chain data, spread across systems that don't talk to each other.

Disconnected systems and manual processes create an overwhelming data burden for manufacturers, which can lead to enterprise-wide challenges. Product and supply chain data are closely connected; a supplier's material substitution can trigger a compliance gap, and a compliance gap can become an operational one, such as a blocked shipment, a delayed launch, or a lost contract. Closing that gap requires a connected network of product intelligence that helps manufacturers manage risk and operate with more resilience and efficiency.

At the same time, regulations like EPR, PFAS, PPWR, and ESPR keep expanding. Managing them takes more than compliance software. It takes connected data that compliance, engineering, procurement, and sustainability teams can all act on. When data, systems, and people are connected, manufacturers catch problems sooner and move faster.

The Assent Integration Connector will help keep that data current, connecting it directly to the enterprise systems where it originates and providing end-to-end data visibility.

That data usually lives in systems like SAP, Oracle, PTC Windchill, and Siemens Teamcenter, plus industry platforms like IMDS. The Assent Integration Connector includes these and more than 200 other pre-built connectors covering ERP, PLM, EAM, EHS, supply chain, and BI systems. Manufacturers can now bring their operational data directly into Assent, freeing themselves of the cost and hassle of manual spreadsheets and custom integrations. This will be even more critical with upcoming Digital Product Passport requirements, which are expected to require manufacturers to maintain continuously updated, verifiable product data from raw material to end of life, not a snapshot taken once a year.

"Manufacturers are in the business of designing great products that customers can trust, not overcoming compliance or sustainability roadblocks," said Michael Southworth, CEO of Assent. "For years, the industry accepted the gap between product design and regulatory disclosure as the cost of doing business. It shouldn't be. The Assent Integration Connector closes that gap. It's the difference between building compliance and sustainability into products from the start versus checking it only after the fact."

How customers benefit

With the Assent Integration Connector, compliance, engineering, procurement, and sustainability teams gain:

  • Trusted supplier and material data that updates automatically. When a supplier changes a material, or a bill of materials updates, that change reaches Assent right away. Teams no longer wait for the next quarterly upload.
  • When an auditor asks for evidence, it should take minutes, not days. Every data point carries a clear record of where it came from and when it was last verified. Responding to an auditor or customer request no longer means reconstructing records by hand.
  • An operating model that is designed to scale without adding headcount. As new regulations, product lines, or facilities come online, the connector framework scales with them. Typically, no new integration project is required each time.
  • Sharper insights without changing systems. Assent's AI-enabled product intelligence turns connected data into faster, more proactive recommendations. The more current and complete that data is, the sharper those insights become.

Another Step in the Strategy That’s Shaping the Market

The Assent Integration Connector builds on a strategy Assent has invested in for years. It gives manufacturers and distributors confidence that their products are compliant, safe, and responsibly sourced, not after the fact, but as they're designed, sourced, and brought to market. "We’re fundamentally changing the way manufacturers and distributors use product compliance and sustainability information to make better business decisions throughout the product lifecycle," said Southworth, following Assent’s recent acquisition of IPOINT. The Assent Integration Connector, and the products still to come, continue that work.

Availability

The Assent Integration Connector is available now to Assent customers with ERP, PLM, EHS, or supply chain environments, including SAP, Oracle, Infor, PTC Windchill, and Siemens Teamcenter. Custom connections are also available for organizations with unique system requirements, including industry-specific platforms, such as IMDS.
