GolfStatus Announces Enhanced Messaging Tool to Streamline Golf Tournament Communications

Fully integrated feature gives tournament organizers an easier way to communicate with golfers, sponsors, donors, and volunteers from one central platform

LINCOLN, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GolfStatus, the leading golf tournament management solution for nonprofit and charity golf events, is pleased to announce the launch of its enhanced messaging tool. The fully integrated feature is designed to help tournament organizers more efficiently manage and deliver event communications.

The revamped messaging feature centralizes email and mobile app notifications within the GolfStatus tournament management platform, allowing organizers to easily create, schedule, send, and track messages without leaving their event dashboard. The update replaces the previous messaging application, giving planning teams greater flexibility and visibility throughout the tournament lifecycle.

“Clear, timely communication is essential to a successful golf fundraiser,” says Steve Mattern, Chief Operating Officer at GolfStatus. “Whether organizers are sharing registration reminders, sponsorship updates, day-of logistics, or post-event impact, GolfStatus’ new messaging experience makes it easier to keep participants informed and engaged while saving organizers valuable time.”

Key Updates

  • Message Creation. The enhanced messaging tool is available in a dedicated Messages tab within each tournament dashboard, for easy access to create, schedule, send, and manage communications. The feature supports both email messages and mobile app notifications, giving organizers the flexibility to choose the best channel for player instructions, day-of reminders, post-tournament impact, and more.
  • Audience Groups. Tournaments have access to dynamic audience groups, which are automatically created, updated, and organized based on the event, including players, teams, sponsors, donors, and waitlist contacts. Messages can be sent across multiple tournaments, include entire groups, or target specific recipients, and deduplication ensures contacts receive only one copy of a message, even if they belong to multiple groups. Current tournament participants can also be excluded from promotional sends if desired.
  • Message Scheduling and Analytics. Users can quickly create a message, select recipients, and send immediately or schedule delivery for a future date and time. Because fundraising teams often plan communications weeks or months in advance, messages can be saved as drafts, edited as needed, and scheduled ahead of time. Sent messages are archived with timestamps and sender information to support better transparency and collaboration. Organizers can also track delivery status, opens, clicks, bounces, and spam reports for messages, providing insights into audience engagement.
  • Email Capabilities. Organizers now have greater control over the content and presentation of email messages with a rich-text editor, custom subject lines and sender display names, enhanced formatting options, attachments up to 25 MB, and no character limits.

“The enhanced messaging tool is part of GolfStatus’ continued investment in simplifying tournament planning and fundraising through purpose-built tech,” says Mattern. Alongside GolfStatus’ other core functions—registration, sponsor management, fundraising, live scoring, and event websites—integrated communications provide another way for organizers to save time and deliver a better experience for participants and supporters.
