AS9100D is an internationally recognized quality management system (QMS) standard for organizations serving the aviation, space, and defense industries. Building upon ISO 9001, the standard incorporates additional aerospace-specific requirements for product safety, risk management, supplier quality, configuration management, manufacturing traceability, and continuous improvement. Certification is awarded by an accredited certification body following an independent audit confirming that an organization's quality management system conforms to the requirements of AS9100D.
For Aspen Avionics customers, including aircraft owners, dealers, installers, and OEM partners, the certification provides added confidence that products are designed and manufactured using disciplined, repeatable processes that emphasize quality, consistency, and manufacturing traceability.
The certification further enhances the Company’s ability to collaborate with aircraft manufacturers, strategic partners, and aerospace organizations that require suppliers to maintain internationally recognized quality management systems.
"Achieving AS9100 certification demonstrates our unwavering commitment to building world-class avionics through disciplined manufacturing and robust quality management processes that deliver the consistency and reliability our customers expect," said Mark Ferrari, Vice President Avionics. "Since joining AIRO, we've invested in our people, our manufacturing operations, and our quality systems to build a stronger foundation for innovation and long-term growth. This certification validates those efforts and reflects the culture of excellence our entire team has embraced."
From its Phoenix headquarters, Aspen Avionics designs, engineers, manufactures, tests, and supports its family of Evolution® flight displays, GPS sensors, and avionics solutions. The facility serves as the center as the company’s US-based engineering, manufacturing, technical support, repair services, and customer care operations.
