PathFinder Raises Multi-Million Dollar Angel Round to Launch BirdieSense, a Next-Generation Sports AI Agent

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PathFinder, a sports AI agent hardware company, today announced it has secured a multi-million dollar angel round led exclusively by Jinqiu Capital. The funding will be used to accelerate product development, scale manufacturing, and prepare for its upcoming global crowdfunding launch.

Our goal is to go one step further—turning perception into understanding, and understanding into actionable decisions through an AI agent.

Founded in 2024, PathFinder focuses on building next-generation AI agent hardware for sports scenarios, starting with golf. The company was established by a founding team during their robotics master’s program at the University of Pennsylvania’s GRASP Lab, with expertise in robotics perception, motion planning, and visual intelligence.

“Most sports technology today stops at recording or analysis,” said Steve Yi Chen, Founder and CEO of PathFinder.

PathFinder’s first product, BirdieSense, is a golf AI agent device powered by a pure-vision system. Using RGB cameras and proprietary machine learning algorithms, the device reconstructs ball trajectory, analyzes swing mechanics, and delivers real-time coaching feedback — without relying on high-cost radar or simulator systems.

Unlike traditional tools such as launch monitors or GPS devices, BirdieSense is designed as a full “perception–understanding–decision” loop. The system continuously learns from user data, identifies performance patterns, and provides personalized training guidance over time.

The product has already generated early interest across online communities and within the golf ecosystem, with “BirdieSense” emerging as a recognizable keyword among early adopters.

PathFinder believes this approach addresses a key gap in the golf market: while users have strong willingness to improve, existing tools rarely answer the fundamental question of “what to do next.” By embedding long-term modeling and decision-making capabilities into its system, the company aims to redefine the role of technology in sports training.

PathFinder has received early interest from coaches, training institutions, and golf facilities, and is preparing to introduce BirdieSense to a broader global audience. The company plans to open pre-sales for BirdieSense in mid-July 2026. PathFinder is also preparing to exhibit at the 2027 PGA Show, where it aims to showcase its next-generation swing analysis solutions to the broader golf community.

Looking ahead, PathFinder aims to expand its AI agent system beyond golf into other structured sports such as tennis and baseball, building a unified intelligent training platform powered by AI and robotics.
