NTx Bio Introduces NTxscribe FLEX: Continuous-Flow RNA Production That Scales to Your Workflow
New, more flexible and affordable benchtop system is designed for the flexibility and customizability demanded by preclinical research, process development, and translational applications
RIO RANCHO, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NTx Bio, a leader in next-generation biomanufacturing technologies, today introduced NTxscribe® FLEX, a flexible benchtop continuous-flow RNA production system designed to serve the needs of process development scientists, translational researchers, and RNA therapeutic developers. NTxscribe FLEX extends NTx's proven NTxscribe platform, built on the same patented continuous-flow, hollow fiber bioreactor (HFBR) architecture that powers its NTxscribe CORE system. The result is a more flexible, purpose-built system that gives researchers and development teams direct control over their RNA production process, customizable to the quantities and parameters each program requires.
“By bringing our core technology into a more flexible, affordable and open format, we're meeting a much broader range of customers where they are."

Traditional RNA production methods are costly, time-consuming, and difficult to scale. Moving preclinical benchtop methods into traditional or even custom manufacturing solutions can be similarly slow and expensive, significantly impeding the therapeutic development process. As a result, many promising therapeutic programs stall before reaching clinical development, not because the science has failed, but because the cost, infrastructure requirements, and manufacturing complexity create barriers that are difficult to overcome.
NTxscribe FLEX addresses these challenges by delivering an RUO system that will scale to deliver GMP material. With a streamlined, fully closed and continuous-flow operation that integrates IVT through initial purification in a single automated run, NTx's patented HFBR-based continuous-flow architecture enables controlled, scalable RNA production with minimal manual intervention. Where NTxscribe CORE is optimized for standardized, higher-volume production, NTxscribe FLEX is purpose-built for customizability, giving researchers and process development teams the ability to dial in RNA output to what their program requires. Unlike traditional batch approaches, NTxscribe FLEX supports RNA development and clinical production needs from a compact, single-operator benchtop footprint, without requiring large-scale manufacturing infrastructure, all while remaining flexible to integrate with up and downstream solutions.
“When we launched NTxscribe, we proved that continuous-flow RNA production could deliver speed, quality, and scalability that batch-based approaches simply can't match. FLEX is the natural evolution of that platform and is designed for the scientists and organizations who are driving RNA therapeutics forward from the bench to the clinic,” said Joan Haab, Ph.D., CEO of NTx Bio. “By bringing our core technology into a more flexible, affordable and open format, we're meeting a much broader range of customers where they are, whether that's a process development team optimizing a new construct, a translational researcher working with complex RNA, or an emerging biotech building their RNA capabilities from the ground up. FLEX will be available as a GMP capable platform in early 2027 to ensure our RUO clients of today have the ability to scale into clinical phases and on to commercialization on a single platform.”
NTxscribe FLEX features include:
- Automated RNA production: From DNA template through initial purification with minimal manual intervention, in hours rather than days.
- Continuous-flow process control: Patented HFBR architecture enables controlled reaction conditions, shorter residence times, and reproducible RNA output with reduced operational complexity.
- Designed for integrity in longer constructs: Continuous-flow processing reduces shear exposure and prolonged reaction residence time, helping preserve integrity in longer and more complex RNA constructs.
- Scalable process continuity: The same platform supports continuity from preclinical development through translational workflows, minimizing process redevelopment during scale-up.
- Flexible benchtop deployment: Compact, modular, single-operator automation with user-controllable parameters supporting varied constructs, chemistries, and experimental designs.
- Customizable RNA output: Adjustable process parameters allow production from small research batches through larger translational runs, on a single platform.
NTxscribe FLEX is designed to support a broad range of RNA development workflows, including therapeutic mRNA and saRNA development, personalized cancer vaccine programs, cell and gene therapy, process development and optimization, long and complex RNA constructs, and CDMO technology evaluation.
NTxscribe FLEX is available for research use (RUO) beginning Summer 2026. GMP availability is expected in early 2027. To request a consultation or learn more, visit www.ntxbio.com or contact sales@ntxbio.com.
