Sabu Song Joins Corgan as Studio Design Director, Strengthening Design Leadership in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global architecture and design firm Corgan announced that Sabu Song has joined the firm as a Studio Design Director and Associate Principal in the firm’s Los Angeles office. In this role, Song will help lead design vision and execution, advancing Corgan’s commitment to delivering thoughtful, high-impact environments that elevate human experience and client outcomes.

With more than two decades of experience in architectural design, Song brings a deep understanding of design leadership, project delivery, and studio culture. She has led high-performing teams and advanced design excellence across a diverse range of project types, including arts and culture, aviation, retail, mixed-use residential, and office environments. Song’s appointment reinforces Corgan’s design-forward approach, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and craft across its global portfolio.

“At its best, design is both an act of creative expression and a responsibility to people, place, and the future—one that shapes how people connect, create and thrive,” said Song. “I’m excited to join Corgan, a firm that values both the rigor of process and the power of design to create meaningful impact for clients and communities.”

Known for her concept-driven approach and rigorous attention to detail, Song is passionate about building studios that elevate both design quality and team culture. She believes that aspirational design not only delivers exceptional results, but also creates meaningful opportunities for mentorship, strengthens communities, and drives lasting value for clients.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sabu to our Los Angeles studio,” said Ian Zapata, Director of Design at Corgan. “Her ability to lead with both creativity and precision, while fostering collaborative and high-performing teams, will further strengthen our design culture and the impact we deliver across our work.”

Throughout her career, Song has championed a thoughtful design process as a driver of innovation, blending craft, strategy, and execution to produce award-winning work. Her projects have earned numerous accolades, including the IIDA Global Award, Interior Design Best of Year Award, Seoul Architecture Award, International Architecture Award and AIA Best Institute Award. Song earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.

Her addition to the firm reflects Corgan’s continued investment in top design talent and its commitment to advancing design excellence across its markets and geographies. Ranked the No. 4 firm by Architectural Record and the fourth-largest architecture firm in the U.S. by Building Design + Construction, Corgan provides full architectural design services for aviation and transportation, campus, data centers, education, government, health, hospitality and retail, mixed-use, multifamily, office, and workplace.

Recognized as one of the Los Angeles Times’ top architecture firms and one of Los Angeles Business Journal’s Best Places to Work, Corgan’s LA team has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven in part by high-profile projects at LAX and Hollywood Burbank Airport. In March 2026, the firm marked a major expansion of its West Coast presence with the opening of a 40,000-square-foot Los Angeles office. Corgan’s new LA office supports a variety of workstyles and features a state-of-the-art broadcast studio, two terraces, a café and lounge designed to foster community, and a model shop where architects can create 3D models.
