Allen Matkins Adds Nationally Recognized Trial Lawyer Ronald Rossi in New York Office

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Allen Matkins today announced that Ronald R. Rossi has joined the firm’s Litigation Practice as a partner in its New York office. A first-chair trial lawyer and lead counsel in complex, high-stakes commercial disputes with more than three decades of experience, Rossi is often called up to represent clients in their most significant business, real estate, insurance, technology, labor, and corporate governance disputes in courts and arbitration forums across the United States and internationally.

Rossi’s practice focuses on representing developers, owners, investors, companies, boards, directors, and senior executives in litigation involving troubled real estate projects, partnership and financing disputes, business torts, contract claims, and labor issues. He also has significant experience representing domestic and international insurers in coverage disputes and disputes among insurers, as well as handling litigation arising from failed software implementations and other technology-related business disruptions.

In addition, Rossi regularly advises public and private company boards and senior executives on sensitive internal investigations and governance matters. He also has substantial experience handling cross-border disputes involving foreign companies with U.S.-facing issues.

Rossi has been recognized by The Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, and Lawdragon as a Leading Litigator in America, with clients describing him as “an excellent litigator” who “generates both judicial and client confidence in and out of the courtroom,” and who “provides invaluable perspective for clients.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome Ron, who has many years of experience in complex business and real estate litigation and is a top-flight trial lawyer,” said Jeffrey Patterson, Managing Partner of Allen Matkins. “His experience elevates our litigation and trial capabilities for our clients in New York and nationally.”

Scott Leipzig, Chair of Allen Matkins’ Litigation Practice, said, “Ron’s addition demonstrates our commitment to serving our clients on the most complex, high-stakes disputes across the country.”

“I’m excited to contribute to Allen Matkins’ continued growth as a national litigation platform,” said Rossi. “I was attracted to the firm’s strong reputation in real estate and litigation, its collegial culture, and its sophisticated client base. I look forward to being part of its growth in New York and supporting its success in New York and nationally.”

Since entering the New York market in 2023, the firm has steadily invested in talent, capabilities, and client relationships across real estate, litigation, construction, land use, environmental, corporate law, and emerging sectors such as data centers. Rossi’s addition marks another significant milestone in that growth trajectory. In less than three years, the office has grown to more than 20 lawyers.

Rossi received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from College of the Holy Cross. He joins the firm from Kasowitz LLP. Prior to joining Kasowitz, he clerked for the Honorable Virgil Pittman, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Alabama.
