Tri Counties Bank Awards $110,000 in Scholarships to California High School Seniors

CHICO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tri Counties Bank, in partnership with the Community Foundation of the North State, has awarded $110,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors throughout Northern and Central California. This year, 80 students from 68 high schools in 21 counties received scholarships of $1,000 or $1,500.

Two types of scholarships are provided:

  • Income-based scholarships for students with a Student Aid Index (SAI) of $6,655 or less and a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Merit-based scholarships for students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher

Sixty $1,500 scholarships were awarded to low-to-moderate income students, and twenty $1,000 scholarships were awarded based on merit. Scholarship funds are sent directly to the recipient’s college, university or trade school to assist with educational expenses.

Scholarships were awarded to students in the following counties: Butte, Contra Costa, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Kern, Madera, Merced, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Mateo, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Trinity, Yolo, and Yuba.
