The IBJ ranking is for Indianapolis-area firms based on total square feet completed or under construction in 2025. For Thompson Thrift, that amounted to more than 13.5 million square feet of developments across 7 states, with 88% multifamily, 7% retail, and the remaining 5% industrial and office.

Highlights for the company over the past year included continued progress on the $750 million expansion of Fishers District outside Indianapolis, ongoing national multifamily growth and a significant investment in Indiana’s future workforce through a transformative partnership with Indiana State University that provides long-term scholarship and internship opportunities designed to support the next generation of construction industry leaders.

Thompson Thrift continues to build on a legacy of growth, innovation and long-term investment in its people and communities. With continued geographic expansion, a growing development pipeline and recent milestones such as its 100th residential community and entry into its 24th state, the company is well-positioned to continue delivering high-quality communities in strategic markets nationwide.

Since its founding in 1986, Thompson Thrift has invested more than $7.2 billion into local communities and has become known as a trusted partner engaged in all aspects of development, construction, leasing and management of high-quality real estate projects across the country.
