NEW JERSEY & TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Agam Capital, a global leader in technology-enabled insurance-related asset and liability analytics, today announced the appointment of Kazuhiro Nakatsuka, former Japanese Minister of State for Financial Services, as a Strategic Advisor, effective immediately. Drawing on decades of high-level regulatory, governmental, and financial expertise and experience, Mr. Nakatsuka will support Agam’s strategic direction and its long-term expansion across the Japanese life insurance, pension, and broader financial markets.

Mr. Nakatsuka’s career spans the highest levels of Japanese public service and private sector leadership. Notably, Mr. Nakatsuka served as Japan’s Minister for Financial Services in the Noda Cabinet, where he oversaw financial regulation and crisis response efforts, helping to strengthen the stability of Japan’s financial system while also contributing to the development of the country’s insurance and investment markets. His extensive background includes:

  • Former Senior Vice Minister for Reconstruction and member of the House of Representatives.
  • Current Advisor to TWOSTONE&Sons Inc. and Earth Infinity Co., Ltd.; former President and CEO of the Dojima Exchange and Former Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer at SBI Holdings.
  • Visiting Senior Researcher at Waseda University’s Research Organization for Nano & Life Innovation.

In his role as Strategic Advisor, Mr. Nakatsuka will provide insights into the Japanese insurance sector regulatory landscape and market environment and foster partnerships with local institutional insurers. His appointment follows the recent strategic announcement by Agam Capital and 1823 Partners, a differentiated asset management firm focused on insurance-first investment strategies, regarding their targeted expansion into the Japanese life and retirement sectors.

Kazuhiro Nakatsuka commented: “I am honored to join Agam Capital as Strategic Advisor at such an important time for Japan’s financial sector. Japan’s insurance and financial institutions are facing a rapidly evolving environment shaped by interest rate normalization, changing risk management requirements, and the growing need for long-term investment stability.

“I believe Agam Capital’s technology-driven approach, combined with its expertise in insurance and asset management solutions, has strong potential to contribute meaningfully to the Japanese market. I look forward to supporting the firm’s long-term development and partnerships in Japan.”
