AI Pioneer Fei-Fei Li to Accept the 2026 Hult Honorary Doctorate from Hult International Business School

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Visionary AI pioneer Fei-Fei Li has been named as the recipient of this year’s Honorary Doctorate from Hult International Business School. Dr. Li is the inaugural Sequoia Professor in the Computer Science Department at Stanford University and a founding co-director of Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Institute. She has played a foundational role in AI image-recognition and is co-founder and CEO of spatial intelligence company World Labs. Dr. Li is widely recognized as a pioneer of modern AI.

In 2025, Dr. Li was named by Time magazine as one of the top 100 innovators and thinkers shaping our world through groundbreaking advances in AI. Her work focuses on human-centered AI and she advocates for the ethical development of artificial intelligence systems. Dr. Li also works with policymakers to ensure positive and human-centered progress in AI technologies.

Dr. Li was born in China and moved to the US with her family at the age of 15. She studied physics and computer science at Princeton University before completing her PhD in computer engineering at the Caltech. She served as the Director of Stanford’s AI Lab from 2013 to 2018.

The Hult Honorary Doctorate is given each year to individuals who embody Hult’s mission of making an impact that matters and inspiring others to do the same. Past recipients include former Unilever CEO Paul Polman, former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, emotional intelligence pioneer Daniel Goleman, design thinking innovator and IDEO Executive Chair Tim Brown, and AI futurist Azeem Azhar.
