Armstrong World Industries Releases 2026 Sustainability Report Highlighting Innovation and Operational Excellence

LANCASTER, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (NYSE: AWI), a leader in the design, innovation and manufacture of interior and exterior architectural applications including ceilings, specialty walls and exterior metal solutions, today announced the release of its sixth annual Sustainability Report. The report highlights the company’s progress in 2025 across its three sustainability pillars: Healthy and Circular Products, Healthy Planet and Thriving People and Communities, all aligned with the company’s purpose of making a positive difference in the spaces where people live, work, learn, heal and play.

“This year’s report highlights the continued integration of sustainability across our company,” said Mark Hershey, President and CEO of AWI. “In 2025, we advanced initiatives that reduce waste, enhance efficiency in our operations and increase the performance of innovative sustainable solutions like Templok®. These efforts reflect our strategic commitment to productive operations and developing products that enable our customers to design and create healthier, more energy-efficient spaces.”

The 2026 Sustainability Report spotlights enhancements to Armstrong’s innovative Templok® energy saving ceiling tiles, which increase thermal storage capacity and eliminate chemicals of concern. Templok is now part of the company’s Sustain® portfolio, representing the company’s most sustainable, high‑performance ceiling products that meet stringent environmental standards in our industry.

The report highlights continued progress across AWI’s sustainability initiatives, including implementation of advanced wastewater processing at the Hilliard, Ohio, facility to help divert paint waste from landfill. The company advanced renewable energy and carbon reduction efforts while continuing to invest in operational efficiencies that support both sustainability priorities and long-term business performance.

AWI also advanced its people-first culture through ongoing investments in employee growth, development and workplace safety. Through the Armstrong World Industries Foundation and corporate giving initiatives, AWI continued supporting education, environmental protection and thriving neighborhoods in the communities where employees live and work.

AWI prepared the 2026 Sustainability Report in reference to the GRI Standards and in alignment with the following additional frameworks and standards: Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Construction Materials and Building Products and Furnishings Standards, the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) IFRS S2 Climate-Related Disclosures.
