DataVisor Appoints Patrick Harr as CEO to Scale AI-Native Market Leadership in Fraud and Financial Crime Prevention

Five-time venture-backed CEO joins DataVisor as Co-Founder Yinglian Xie turns full attention to the AI breakthroughs transforming the multibillion-dollar fraud and financial crime market

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DataVisor, the AI-native real-time decisioning engine for fraud and financial crime prevention, today announced the appointment of Patrick Harr as Chief Executive Officer.

Harr joins DataVisor at a pivotal moment as financial institutions and payment providers face a multibillion-dollar market shift driven by AI, faster payment rails, and rising operational complexity. As fraud attackers increasingly weaponize AI to launch faster, more sophisticated, and previously unseen attacks, legacy fraud systems built on static rules and retrospective workflows are becoming increasingly ineffective.

DataVisor is uniquely positioned for this market shift, combining AI-native decisioning, real-time performance at massive scale, and advanced fraud and financial crime capabilities to help customers detect, investigate, and stop sophisticated attacks in milliseconds across billions of transactions. With innovations like Vera, the first suite of conversational AI agents purpose-built for financial crime prevention, the company has consistently stayed ahead of where the industry is heading.

Building on that momentum, Co-Founder Yinglian Xie will assume the role of President of Technology and AI, where she will continue to lead DataVisor’s long-term technology vision, AI innovation, and next-generation product strategy. Co-Founder Fang Yu will continue to play a critical leadership role in advancing the company’s AI and product innovation.

Patrick Harr is a five-time venture-backed technology CEO and proven builder of AI-native cybersecurity, cloud, and enterprise software businesses. Most recently, he served as CEO of SlashNext, an AI-native email and messaging security company that used AI to stop advanced fraud attacks, culminating in its successful acquisition by Varonis.

Across his career, Patrick has built and scaled high-growth technology businesses through both venture-backed CEO roles and senior executive leadership positions at HPE and VMware, including leading HPE Cloud’s growth from $40 million to $800 million in annual revenue, generating more than $2.3 billion cumulatively over four years. He is recognized for transforming strong technical innovation into scalable growth businesses, with deep expertise in AI-native security, cloud infrastructure, enterprise software, and financial crime prevention.

“Fraud and financial crime are undergoing a fundamental transformation as AI and autonomous agents dramatically increase the scale, sophistication, and speed of attacks,” said Patrick Harr, Chief Executive Officer of DataVisor. “Legacy approaches built around static rules and retrospective analysis are not sufficient for this new era. What attracted me to DataVisor is the combination of world-class AI innovation led by one of the industry’s most accomplished AI leadership teams, true real-time decisioning at massive scale, strong customer momentum, and the opportunity to define the AI-native real-time decisioning engine for modern fraud and financial crime prevention.”

“Patrick brings exactly the leadership experience we need for DataVisor’s next phase of growth,” said Yinglian Xie, Co-Founder and President of Technology and AI at DataVisor. “He has repeatedly built and scaled category-defining technology businesses by aligning innovation, customer outcomes, and disciplined execution. As fraud evolves rapidly in the age of AI, I’m excited to deepen my focus on technology and AI innovation while partnering with Patrick to scale our market leadership.”

“DataVisor sits at the center of one of the most important market transitions in financial infrastructure, where AI is fundamentally reshaping both fraud attacks and fraud defense,” said Tim Drager, Partner at Brighton Park Capital. “Patrick’s proven track record scaling AI-native and enterprise software businesses makes him the right leader to accelerate the company’s next phase of growth.”
