Abridge Names San Oo CTO

Oo, who previously held leadership roles at Slack and Notion, joins Abridge to scale the intelligence platform for healthcare

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Abridge, the leading enterprise AI platform for healthcare, has named San Oo Chief Technology Officer. Oo joins Abridge after helping build Slack and Notion into platforms that changed how hundreds of millions of people work. At Abridge, he will apply that experience to healthcare, where the stakes are higher, the systems are messier, and AI can transform how clinicians care for their patients.

“The platforms San helped build altered the texture of work with thoughtful technology and exceptional craft that facilitate human connection,” said Dr. Shiv Rao, CEO and Founder of Abridge. “Healthcare is the next industry that needs that kind of care and platform-level rethink, and San is the rare engineering leader who's done it multiple times.”

Oo arrives at an inflection point for the company. Abridge is live in more than 270 of the largest health systems in the U.S., including Duke Health, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Sutter Health, and Yale New Haven Health. The platform will support more than 100 million patient conversations in 2026. The company is rapidly expanding capabilities across the broader healthcare ecosystem while staying anchored to the needs of clinicians.

“I've spent my career building products and platforms that people love to use that are secure and reliable. Now I want to do the same for healthcare, where the stakes are even higher,” said Oo, Chief Technology Officer of Abridge. “Abridge already sits at the center of the most important moment in healthcare, the conversation between a clinician and a patient. The opportunity now is to extend that intelligence across the entire system.”

At Notion, Oo set engineering goals and directions, with a strong focus on reliability, developer velocity, and agentic engineering. At Slack, he helped build the engineering organization during the hypergrowth years that defined modern workplace collaboration. Earlier, he served as CTO at ShopBack, a unicorn in the Asia-Pacific region. He was also a founding member of two companies that were later acquired: Mumbo Inc., acquired by LinkedIn in 2012, and Astro Technology, acquired by Slack in 2018.

Oo will be joining Abridge leadership at their first-ever keynote on June 11 in New York City, where they will share more about broader platform innovation.
