NantBioRenewables Reinforces Strength of U.S. Manufacturing Platform of Ocean Based Calcium Compostable Products Amid Global Packaging Supply Chain Disruptions

Alabama-based facility maintains full production capacity as overseas markets face escalating shipping delays and regional supply constraints

GADSDEN, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NantBioRenewables today announced that its manufacturing facility in Gadsden, Alabama continues to operate at full capacity as packaging producers across Asia experience increasing slowdowns tied to regional supply chain disruptions and ongoing restrictions impacting critical shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz. The company stated that its U.S.-based manufacturing platform continues to provide customers with stable production, reliable lead times, and reduced exposure to global logistics volatility during a period of heightened international uncertainty.

NantBioRenewables manufactures its Wave Ware line of foodservice disposables across multiple material platforms, including compostable ocean calcium sand bioplastics, cellulose acetate, and recyclable polypropylene (PP), allowing customers to support a variety of waste-stream and sustainability goals. All products are manufactured domestically, helping customers reduce exposure to geopolitical instability, overseas shipping delays, and fluctuating import conditions.

“While offshore markets are experiencing real pressure, our U.S. facility remains steady,” said Lila Karlsen McNutt, Sales Director. “Customers who prioritize reliability and domestic sourcing continue to see the value in our model, especially when global supply chains are strained.”

The company’s Alabama facility integrates material development, resin formulation, compounding, and thermoforming operations under one roof, allowing for greater production flexibility, faster response times, and enhanced quality oversight.

“Our vertically integrated operation gives us the ability to move quickly and maintain tighter process control compared to many overseas manufacturing models,” said Kenn Budlong, Chief Operating Officer of NantBioRenewables. “By manufacturing in the United States, we are able to offer customers improved responsiveness, more manageable minimum order quantities, and greater supply chain visibility.”

NantBioRenewables stated it will continue supporting distributors, operators, and brand partners seeking dependable U.S.-made packaging solutions as global market conditions continue to evolve.
