UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of D.C. Earns NCQA LTSS Distinction

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of D.C. has earned the Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Distinction by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.

NCQA’s LTSS Distinction offers a person-centered, comprehensive and standardized evaluation of organizations responsible for delivering managed long-term services and supports. LTSS Distinction is specifically designed for organizations that coordinate both medical care and LTSS for their members. Achieving this distinction strengthens operational efficiency; enhances communication among individuals, caregivers, providers and payers; and reduces errors and unnecessary duplication of services.

“We are honored to be recognized with the NCQA LTSS Distinction,” said Kathlyn Wee, CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Maryland and D.C. “This distinction reflects our continued leadership in delivering high-quality healthcare and improved member outcomes among the District’s long-term care populations.”

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of D.C. is dedicated to addressing both the medical and social needs of the District through targeted investments with community partners, including a recent collaboration with Seabury Resources for Aging® through the launch of the Housing Stabilization Fund, an innovative collaboration that delivers targeted, one-time interventions for low-income and cost-burdened District residents aged 60 and older whose housing stability is threatened by unsafe or unsanitary conditions.

UnitedHealthcare serves more than 120,000 members enrolled in Medicaid, employer-sponsored, individual and Medicare plans in Washington, D.C., with a network of 12 hospitals and over 8,700 physicians and other care providers in the District.
