PayFacto and Liberis Launch Maitre’D Capital Cash Advance, Bringing Embedded Funding to Canadian Restaurants

ATLANTA & MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Maitre’D Capital Cash Advance provides flexible, revenue-based funding embedded directly within the Maitre’D platform, helping hospitality operators access capital faster and more efficiently.

PayFacto and Liberis today announced the launch of Maitre’D Capital Cash Advance, a new embedded funding solution designed specifically for Canadian restaurant and hospitality operators.

Built directly into the Maitre’D ecosystem, Maitre’D Capital Cash Advance gives eligible merchants access to working capital through a streamlined, embedded experience powered by existing sales data and integrated workflows.

Unlike traditional loans, repayments flex automatically as a percentage of daily sales, helping operators better manage cash flow while navigating tight margins, seasonality, and ongoing economic uncertainty.

The launch comes at a critical time for Canadian small businesses. According to Statistics Canada, the total value of loans disbursed to small businesses declined by 22% between 2023 and 2024, while the number of individual loans dropped by 38% over the same period. At the same time, 40% of Canadian SMEs report access to financing as a major barrier to growth.

For restaurant operators, access to capital can often determine whether they can renovate a dining room, replace equipment, hire staff, expand locations, or manage seasonal slowdowns. Yet traditional financing processes frequently require lengthy applications, rigid repayment structures, and separate banking relationships.

Maitre’D Capital Cash Advance is designed to change that experience.

By leveraging transaction data already flowing through the platform, merchants can be assessed more efficiently and access funding directly within the tools they already use to run their business. Repayments are automatically collected as a fixed percentage of daily sales, eliminating fixed monthly payment schedules and reducing operational friction.

Cash Advance is the first product under Maitre’D Capital, PayFacto’s embedded finance initiative designed to bring funding, payments, and future financial services directly into the restaurant workflow.

The launch reflects a broader shift across hospitality and vertical SaaS toward platforms that combine software, payments, and financial services into a single operational ecosystem.

“Canada’s hospitality sector is full of exceptional operators who are constantly reinvesting in their businesses, but accessing capital has traditionally involved a painful detour away from the platforms they already rely on every day,” said Rob Fairfield, CEO of Liberis.

“This partnership changes that. By embedding funding directly into Maitre’D, we’re putting working capital exactly where it’s needed: inside the operational platform restaurateurs already trust to run their business. This is what embedded finance is built for, and exactly the kind of partnership Liberis was created to power.”

“Maitre’D Capital represents the next chapter of the Maitre’D platform,” said Frances Wynne, Vice President Embedded Finance at PayFacto.

“Restaurants need more than software. They need access to capital, payments, and financial tools that help them grow. With Maitre’D Capital Cash Advance, we’re embedding financial services directly into the platform operators already use every day. Partnering with Liberis allows us to bring world-class embedded finance capabilities to Canadian hospitality merchants.”

PayFacto supports thousands of hospitality merchants across Canada through its integrated restaurant management solution, payments, and commerce solutions. The launch of Maitre’D Capital Cash Advance further expands the company’s strategy of delivering a more complete financial operating platform for restaurants and hospitality businesses.

Maitre’D Capital Cash Advance is now available to eligible PayFacto merchants nationwide.
