BizTrip AI Appoints Valerie Layman as Head of Product Strategy

Seasoned travel and enterprise software executive returns to corporate travel to help shape the next-generation of AI-native travel technology

BizTrip also strengthens the product team with the addition of Katherine Tomera

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BizTrip AI, a pioneer in agentic AI for corporate travel, today announced that Valerie Layman has joined the company as Head of Product Strategy. In this role, Layman will oversee product vision and strategy, partnering with enterprises looking to reimagine corporate travel in the age of agentic AI.

Layman brings more than two decades of experience across corporate travel and enterprise SaaS, with a proven track record of building and scaling high-impact product organizations. She most recently served as Chief Product Officer at BirchStreet Systems, where she led product strategy for the company’s cloud-based procure-to-pay platform serving the hospitality industry. Prior to that, Layman was Chief Product Officer at Yapta, a pioneer in travel price assurance technology, and held the role of Vice President of Product Management at Coupa Software, where she helped advance the company’s business spend management platform.

Her deep expertise at the intersection of travel, procurement, and technology makes her uniquely positioned to help BizTrip AI accelerate its mission to modernize corporate travel through its proprietary Travel LLM and multi-agent platform.

“Valerie’s experience speaks for itself—she’s been at the forefront of innovation in both corporate travel and enterprise software,” said Tom Romary, Co-Founder and CEO of BizTrip AI. “As we continue to scale, her leadership across product and go-to-market will be critical in bringing our vision to life for customers around the world.”

Layman’s appointment comes at a time of rapid growth for BizTrip AI, as the company expands its platform capabilities to orchestrate travel decisions across policy, budget, supplier content, traveler preferences, and payments in real time.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to my corporate travel roots at such a pivotal moment for the industry,” said Layman. “There’s genuine innovation happening at BizTrip AI—the team is not just iterating on legacy systems, but fundamentally rethinking how travel should work in an AI-driven world. I’m excited to help bring that vision to market and deliver meaningful value to customers.”

In addition to adding Ms. Layman to the executive ranks, BizTrip AI has also announced the hire of Katherine Tomera as its Director of Product Management. Ms. Tomera, who holds an engineering degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Wharton, brings deep start-up experience as a product manager, most recently working at EverBright where she served as a Product Manager in the cleantech industry.

With Layman’s addition to the leadership team and Tomera’s product and technology expertise, BizTrip AI is well-positioned to continue driving a revolutionary transformation in corporate travel, delivering a seamless, intelligent, and cost-effective experience for enterprises and business travelers alike.
