Dern Insurance Agency, Inc. Located in Pinole, California, this acquisition brings a nearly 100-year legacy of localized expertise and a deep commitment to personal insurance into the expanding Inszone organization.

Founded in 1928 by Arthur D. Dern, the agency boasts a rich, multi-generational history. From its early days tied to the Bank of Pinole, the business has been a steadfast pillar of the community. Passed down through four generations, the agency has been led since 1986 by Terry Tigh, the great-grandson of the founder. Under Tigh’s leadership, A.D. Dern Insurance Agency maintained a strong focus on personal insurance, while also supplementing coverage for local storefronts, successfully serving clients across California and Nevada.

After a long and successful career, Tigh, now 71, made the decision to retire and focus on his next chapter: spending time with his eight young grandchildren. When looking for the right organization to take over his agency's extensive legacy, Tigh recalled a positive conversation he had with Inszone CEO Chris Walters two years prior.
