Virtus Introduces Virtus Silvant Small/Mid Growth ETF

Virtus expands its ETF lineup with an actively managed small- and mid-cap growth strategy focused on disruptive growth

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Virtus Investment Partners, Inc. (NYSE: VRTS) has expanded its offerings of distinctive, actively managed exchange-traded funds with the introduction of the Virtus Silvant Small/Mid Growth ETF (NYSE Arca: SSMG), managed by Silvant Capital Management LLC (“Silvant”). The newly launched fund is the 26th ETF offered through Virtus’ multi-manager ETF platform, Virtus ETF Solutions.

The strategy of the Virtus Silvant Small/Mid Growth ETF is to generate capital appreciation by investing in approximately 70 to 90 equity securities of U.S. small- and mid-cap companies that the portfolio management team believes are positioned to benefit from secular trends or company-specific growth drivers. The strategy emphasizes companies with disruptive products or services, strong profitability metrics, and the potential to grow earnings.

Silvant applies a disciplined, bottom-up investment process that views growth as a condition rather than a static category. Through extensive fundamental research, the portfolio management team seeks to identify high-conviction ideas across the market, including companies that may fall outside traditional growth classifications. Portfolio construction incorporates risk control considerations while maintaining flexibility across market environments.

“Our goal is to identify businesses where growth is being driven by durable fundamentals and meaningful change, not just headline momentum,” said Michael A. Sansoterra, Chief Investment Officer at Silvant. “With the Virtus Silvant Small/Mid Growth ETF, we’re applying our disciplined approach to build a focused portfolio of companies we believe are positioned to deliver long-term capital appreciation.”

“The launch of the Virtus Silvant Small/Mid Growth ETF reflects our continued focus on expanding the Virtus ETF platform with distinctive, actively managed strategies,” said William Smalley, executive managing director, Virtus ETF Solutions. “The Virtus Silvant Small/Mid Growth ETF offers investors an approach to small- and mid-cap growth that emphasizes disciplined research, differentiated insights, and the flexibility of the ETF structure.”

Risk Considerations

Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs): The value of an ETF may be more volatile than the underlying portfolio of securities it is designed to track. The costs to the portfolio of owning shares of an ETF may exceed the cost of investing directly in the underlying securities. Issuer Risk: The portfolio will be affected by factors specific to the issuers of securities and other instruments in which the portfolio invests, including actual or perceived changes in the financial condition or business prospects of such issuers. Equity Securities: The market price of equity securities may be adversely affected by financial market, industry, or issuer-specific events. Focus on a particular style or on small, medium, or large-sized companies may enhance that risk. Non-Diversified: The portfolio is not diversified and may be more susceptible to factors negatively impacting its holdings to the extent the portfolio invests more of its assets in the securities of fewer issuers than would a diversified portfolio. Market Price/NAV: At the time of purchase and/ or sale, an investor’s shares may have a market price that is above or below the fund’s NAV, which may increase the investor’s risk of loss. Market Volatility: The value of the securities in the portfolio may go up or down in response to the prospects of individual companies and/or general economic conditions. Local, regional, or global events such as war or military conflict, terrorism, pandemic, or recession could impact the portfolio, including hampering the ability of the portfolio’s manager(s) to invest its assets as intended. Prospectus: For additional information on risks, please see the fund’s prospectus.
