Launched during National Library Week, the Anythink Foundation aims to raise $250,000 to support free, nature-based programs, public art and community experiences connected to the upcoming Anythink Nature Library, opening Aug. 8, 2026.
“Through the Kinship Campaign, we are inviting folks to contribute and play an active role in shaping what the Nature Library can be,” said Mark Fink, Executive Director of Anythink Libraries. “While public funding sustains essential services, additional financial support from the Anythink Foundation will fund one-of-a-kind programs and experiences across the library district, as well as public art for the Nature Library.”
The Kinship Campaign is designed to help people find their place in nature together, with a focus on expanding access for families and youth who may face barriers such as transportation, equipment or experience. Funds raised will directly support programming and immersive learning opportunities that ensure the Nature Library opens with free events and workshops in place.
Donors can contribute at a variety of levels, with incentives that include exclusive preview tour access prior to the Grand Opening, event invitations and public recognition. Contributions of all sizes will help underwrite programs and experiences at all Anythink branches that reflect the Nature Library’s Environmental Kinship Model, which centers learning about, in, with and for nature.
The campaign launches with a limited-time donor challenge. A generous supporter has already pledged $5,000 if 100 individual donations are received before May 1, reinforcing the role of broad community participation in unlocking additional funding.
“With your gift, you’re helping to unlock additional funding that will strengthen Anythink’s work and open even more doors for curious minds.”
