The Sixth Annual Jackson T. Stephens Cup Returns to Texas, Bringing the Nation’s Top College Golf Programs to PGA Frisco

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Jackson T. Stephens Cup (JTS Cup), college golf’s premier event, returns to Texas, September 14–16 at PGA Frisco, one of the sport’s newest and most talked-about destinations. Back in the Lone Star State for the first time since 2023, the sixth annual event will showcase the nation’s top NCAA men’s and women’s programs on a championship stage built for golf’s biggest moments.

“We’re excited to bring the JTS Cup back to Texas, where PGA Frisco’s championship setting will deliver a thrilling experience for players and fans,” said Miles Stephens, co-tournament chair. “The tournament remains a testament to my grandfather Jackson T. Stephens passion for amateur golf and the rising stars it continues to produce.”

The elite women’s field includes Stanford, Texas, Oregon, defending champion Wake Forest, South Carolina, and Florida State—all ranked inside the top 30, according to Scoreboard powered by Clippd.

The men’s field features No. 3 Texas, Texas A&M, Houston, Rice, SMU, and Utah.

Individual competitors from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and U.S. military service academies will be announced prior to the event.

Competition will take place at Fields Ranch East, Gil Hanse’s acclaimed design known for its natural contours, strategic bunkering, and ever-present North Texas winds—elements that promise to test every aspect of a player’s game. The format includes 54 holes of stroke play followed by an 18-hole match play final round.

As the home of the PGA of America and site of future PGA Championships (2027 and 2034), PGA Frisco has quickly established itself as a centerpiece of American golf—and a proving ground for the next generation of champions.

“This is a college tournament like no other,” added John Stephens, co-tournament chair. “Match play is rarely used during the regular season, and the JTS Cup reflects the competitive spirit our grandfather believed in—challenging players in ways that prepare them for the highest levels of the game. With its NCAA-style structure and a championship-caliber course, it rewards decision-making, teamwork, and performance under pressure.”

Now in its sixth year, the tournament honors the legacy of the late Jackson (Jack) T. Stephens, former Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and a lifelong advocate for the game of golf.
