Just prior to NAB 2026, ATX announced significant progress on a low-latency HLS audio solution that gives XDS™ customers a clear, practical path forward as the industry prepares for continued spectrum changes, including the FCC C-Band Spectrum Auction. Built on ATX's widely deployed XDS‑PRO S receiver platform, the solution enables near-real-time IP audio delivery without costly forklift upgrades — protecting capital investments while improving operational performance.

Delivering Real-Time Impact Where It Matters Most
ATX's low-latency HLS solution is currently achieving consistent end-to-end delays of approximately three seconds, with ongoing development focused on further reducing latency. These gains support tighter synchronization for live programming, breaking news, sports and other time-sensitive content — where immediacy directly shapes audience experience and operational efficiency.

Initial testing has focused on the XDS‑PRO S Platform, with early results indicating strong potential compatibility with the XDS‑PRO 1R. A beta release is planned for Q2, with full commercial availability to follow.

A Strategic Step Toward Cloud-Based Distribution
The low-latency HLS solution is a foundational element of ATX's broader IP and cloud-enabled distribution strategy. To further accelerate the industry’s transition to IP delivery, ATX has launched a Hardware as a Service (HaaS) initiative designed to address one of the most significant barriers to modernization: the large upfront capital expenditures traditionally required to upgrade distribution infrastructure.
