6sense Appoints Ashley Jefferson as Chief People Officer and Promotes Julia Lake to Chief Information Security Officer

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--6sense®, the first agent-powered Revenue Intelligence platform, today announced the appointment of Ashley Jefferson as Chief People Officer and the promotion of Julia Lake to Chief Information Security Officer. As the B2B go-to-market technology market grows more competitive and AI reshapes how revenue teams operate, 6sense is reinforcing the leadership depth required to maintain its position at the front of the category and sustain long-term growth.

Jefferson joins 6sense as Chief People Officer, bringing more than 25 years of human resources (HR) leadership experience across technology, financial services, and civil construction. She has spent her career at the intersection of business strategy and people execution, with deep roots in the HR Business Partner model. Her focus has always been the same: build systems that drive performance, create cultures where people do their best work, and connect talent strategy directly to business outcomes.

"We talk a lot about AI, signals, and revenue intelligence — and rightfully so,” said Chris Ball, CEO at 6sense. “But even in this era, the most important driver of customer success is a motivated, high-performing team. That does not happen by accident. It takes deliberate investment in people, culture, and the systems that help every employee reach their full potential. Ashley's charter is to deepen what makes 6sense a place where great people do their best work. That is the foundation of our growth strategy."

Most recently, Jefferson served as Chief People Officer at Synoptek, where she led the global people function. Before that, she spent six years at Rackspace Technology, rising from Senior HR Business Partner to Vice President of HR Business Partners and supporting executive leadership across the Americas go-to-market organization. Earlier roles at The Capital Group Companies, Whataburger, and E-Z Bel Construction gave her a broad foundation across virtually every facet of the HR discipline.

At 6sense, Jefferson is focused on strengthening people programs, scaling the systems that drive performance, and launching a learning and development strategy centered on management excellence and AI readiness — all in service of connecting the 6sense team to its biggest goals.

Lake has been with 6sense for three years, and her promotion to Chief Information Security Officer is a recognition of the security program she has built from the inside. In this role, she leads the company’s global security and trust strategy, spanning security operations, cloud and application security, AI security and risk governance, compliance, and third-party risk management. Her work ensures security is embedded into how 6sense builds, operates, and scales its AI-driven platform — not treated as an afterthought.

"We are building one of the most sophisticated AI-powered revenue intelligence platforms in the market — and with that comes real responsibility,” continued Ball. “Data privacy and security are not a compliance checkbox. They are foundational to the trust our customers place in us, and foundational to the GTM platform we are building. That's why we created the CISO role, and that's why Julia is in it. She has built our security program from the inside, and she understands what it means to make security an enabler — not a barrier — as we scale. When customers trust 6sense with their data, Julia is a big part of why that trust is earned."

A pragmatic, business-aligned security leader, Lake believes security is most effective when it acts as an enabler — helping organizations move with confidence while maintaining the trust of customers. She is particularly focused on the responsible use of AI, working across teams to ensure governance, transparency, and risk management keep pace with the company’s expanding capabilities.

Before joining 6sense, Lake held senior security leadership roles at GitLab, where she led Security Assurance for a globally distributed, publicly traded DevOps platform through its IPO in October 2021. There, she partnered closely with engineering and product teams to align security, privacy, and compliance with rapid innovation at scale.
