FCC Names ioXt Alliance Lead Administrator for U.S. Cyber Trust Mark Program
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced that the ioXt Alliance, the Global Standard for IoT Security, has been selected as the Lead Administrator for the United States Cyber Trust Mark program, a national initiative designed to improve the cybersecurity of consumer internet-connected devices.
The designation reinforces the longstanding role ioXt has held in advancing practical, measurable, and globally aligned IoT security frameworks. As Lead Administrator, ioXt will oversee the operational integrity, coordination, and continued advancement of the U.S. Cyber Trust Mark ecosystem, ensuring that certified devices meet rigorous security requirements and that the program remains transparent, scalable, and trusted across the marketplace.
Brendan Carr, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, said, “The FCC’s U.S. Cyber Trust Mark Program was designed to help consumers make informed decisions about the products they bring into their homes. With today’s decision, the FCC is ensuring that the Lead Administrator will implement the program in a way that is consistent with that vision, while advancing national and cyber security.”
The rapid growth of connected devices across homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure has expanded both opportunity and risk. The U.S. Cyber Trust Mark program introduces a structured framework for verifying baseline cybersecurity protections across eligible IoT products. ioXt’s leadership role strengthens that framework through:
- Deep alignment with FCC and NIST guidance
- Experience as a nationally authorized Cybersecurity Labeling Authority (CLA)
- Operation of a transparent, public-facing device registry designed to support accountability and informed decision-making
“The U.S. Cyber Trust Mark is not just a label. It represents a structural shift in how IoT security is communicated, verified, and maintained,” said Gary Jabara, CEO and Founder of ioXt. “Our responsibility as Lead Administrator is to ensure that this program delivers measurable security outcomes. We are committed to strengthening trust across the entire IoT product for everyone.”
The U.S. Cyber Trust Mark provides a consistent signal to the market. Under ioXt’s leadership, that signal becomes stronger, clearer, and more globally interoperable.
The Lead Administrator designation brings greater clarity and coordination across the ecosystem:
Manufacturers gain a defined operational pathway to certification. Technical teams receive precise interpretation of evolving standards and actionable routes to compliance. Executive leadership benefits from reduced risk exposure, improved procurement alignment, and a visible commitment to security excellence. Regulators and ecosystem stakeholders gain coordinated execution across CLAs and stronger alignment between domestic cybersecurity initiatives and emerging international frameworks.
IoT security is not confined by borders. As governments in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and other regions develop parallel device labeling and cybersecurity frameworks, ioXt’s leadership in the U.S. Cyber Trust Mark program positions the organization to help reduce fragmentation and promote greater interoperability across markets.
ioXt will continue working closely with federal partners, fellow CLAs, manufacturers, retailers, and industry groups to support program consistency, develop and expand a public registry, provide implementation guidance, and adapt to evolving cybersecurity requirements.
The future of IoT security demands coordination, transparency, and accountability. As Lead Administrator of the U.S. Cyber Trust Mark program, ioXt stands ready to advance all three.
