adjoe Names Matthew Freter U.S. Marketing Director as Global Growth Accelerates
Freter joins adjoe to lead strategic marketing initiatives and strengthen the company’s brand presence across the U.S. market.
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--adjoe, the leading rewards-based mobile platform, today announced the appointment of Matthew Freter as U.S. Marketing Director. Freter will lead the company’s U.S. marketing efforts and work closely with sales and business operations to align strategy and drive revenue. As more brands across fintech, QSR, airlines, and other industries seek to create richer in-app experiences for their customers, Matthew’s appointment will enable adjoe to expand the reach of its flagship solution, Arcade, which enables brands to boost engagement, loyalty, and revenue through gamified, non-transactional rewards programs.
The mobile gaming industry is rapidly expanding, with a market size projected to reach $227B by 2028, making it an ideal time for adjoe to accelerate growth as the largest rewarded ad network on both iOS and Android in AppsFlyer’s 2025 Performance Index. Since achieving unicorn status in 2025, adjoe has grown U.S. revenue by 24% year-over-year, significantly outpacing the digital advertising industry’s projected 6.7% growth. This momentum gives the company greater resources to help brands reach cost-conscious consumers through mobile gameplay and rewarded advertising. To support this growth, adjoe has more than doubled its Boston headcount in the past year. As more app companies incorporate advertising into their revenue strategies, rewarded formats are gaining momentum by creating a more balanced value exchange, where users receive meaningful rewards in return for their attention. The company now reaches 770 million users and partners with more than 1,000 companies worldwide, including U.S. brands like Fetch, GasBuddy, and EarnIn.
“Brands across the U.S. are looking for better ways to increase engagement, build lasting loyalty, and improve the bottom line,” said Tommy Yannopoulos, VP of Revenue, Americas at adjoe. “We are bringing Matthew Freter on board not only to strengthen our presence in our Boston headquarters, but to support business growth nationwide. His marketing expertise will help brands discover meaningful adtech solutions like Arcade and enable adjoe to deliver more best-in-class loyalty programs.”
Freter is a seasoned enterprise marketer with experience across app-based, lead generation, and performance marketing for global teams. Previously, Freter was the Director of Growth Marketing at TrueBlue, where he led the global growth marketing team, supporting the entire TrueBlue portfolio, including PeopleScout, Staff Management, and PeopleReady, along with its mobile app, JobStack. Coming from the staffing industry, Freter holds valuable people-first insights that will help adjoe understand its users from a product development perspective. His expertise in scaling marketing operations and integrating brand strategy across diverse markets also positions him to help adjoe accelerate its U.S. growth and drive measurable outcomes for its brand partners.
“adjoe has set the pace in rewarded gaming, and that leadership creates a strong foundation for what comes next,” said Freter. “There’s still significant untapped potential to deliver real value for consumers while driving more consistent, meaningful engagement for brands. I’m looking forward to building on that momentum and helping shape the next generation of loyalty for U.S. enterprises.”
To further strengthen its U.S. team, adjoe has also hired Myra Nguyen as Senior Manager, Strategy and Business Development, and James Shin as Technical Account Manager. Myra will focus on driving adjoe's growth in the Americas and globally through strategic initiatives, partnerships, and operational improvements, while James will lead technical implementations of adjoe's rewarded solutions. The company also recently appointed Maximilian Niederau as Managing Director, Go-to-Market, APAC, with plans to open a new hub in China, and expanded into Brazil with the appointment of Ricardo Feldman as Regional Manager, LATAM, to drive regional growth across Latin America.
