The summer scholarship application deadline is May 1, 2026. The early consideration deadline for fall applications is June 15, 2026, with applications continuing to be accepted after that date if funding remains available.

Following a successful inaugural semester that awarded scholarships to three students, Tallgrass and the Richland Community College Foundation are expanding the Tallgrass Tech program to support more students in the year ahead.

Tallgrass, a national energy infrastructure company, expanded its Tallgrass Tech Scholars program last year by establishing a $75,000 scholarship fund at Richland Community College to support Engineering Technology students in its Applied Science and Technology division.

“Scholarships like the Tallgrass Tech Scholarship play a vital role in supporting our students, helping remove financial barriers and opening doors to meaningful, high-demand careers,” said Tara Mata, Assistance Director of Scholarships and Advancement Services. “Through our valued partnership with Tallgrass, we are able to invest not only in individual student success, but also in the long-term strength of our local workforce. Together, we are creating opportunities that empower students to achieve their goals while helping meet critical industry needs in energy and infrastructure.”

“At Tallgrass, we believe investing in students today is one of the most important ways we can strengthen the future of the energy industry and the communities we serve,” said Rachel Carmichael, Senior Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Tallgrass. “Programs like the Tallgrass Tech help ease the cost of education and gives aspiring engineers and infrastructure professionals a clearer path to the skills and experience they need to succeed.”

Tallgrass and Richland Community College are committed to building a skilled, diverse workforce ready to tackle tomorrow’s energy and infrastructure challenges. Richland Community College’s Engineering Technology programs provide hands-on learning, state-of-the-art facilities, and expert instruction to equip students with the practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s workforce.

To be eligible, students must be in good standing with the college and may be enrolled full- or part-time. They must also specialize in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Systems.
