HighByte Brings AI to Industrial Data Pipelines

New Pipeline AI Agent in HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.4 enables manufacturers to build, edit, and understand data pipelines through conversational AI

PORTLAND, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HighByte®, an industrial software company, today announced the general availability of HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.4, introducing a Pipeline AI Agent that enables manufacturers to configure, understand, and edit industrial data pipelines through natural language. The release also expands support for federated architectures with Central Data and internal subscription capabilities, and it deepens connectivity with native support for Databricks Zerobus and an early implementation of the i3X industrial API standard.

As industrial organizations execute their AI strategies, the ability to prepare, contextualize, and deliver high-quality data at scale becomes a critical dependency. For many teams, the complexity of configuring industrial data pipelines has been a barrier to moving faster. The Pipeline AI Agent in version 4.4 addresses this directly, connecting to the user’s large language model (LLM) of choice and enabling conversational interaction for pipeline configuration. Users can ask the agent to explain an existing pipeline, create a new one from a natural language description, or edit pipeline stages—all while retaining full human review and control before any change takes effect.

“Industrial AI requires a strong data foundation, and that foundation is built pipeline by pipeline,” said John Harrington, Chief Product Officer at HighByte. “The Pipeline AI Agent makes sophisticated pipeline configuration more accessible to every member of the team, whether they are experienced engineers looking to move faster or newer users building their first integrations. Paired with the federated namespaces capabilities in version 4.4, organizations now have the tools to unify distributed data and put it to work for industrial AI at enterprise scale.”

Central Data, now available in version 4.4, extends the Intelligence Hub’s existing Central Configuration capability to expose the data plane of remote hubs to a central hub. Once connected, users can browse remote namespaces, run Smart Queries, and build pipelines that draw from distributed data sources on demand. By leaving the data in edge systems of record, Central Data simplifies the orchestration of must-site architectures that are typical for global manufacturers and energy producers.

“Scale and innovation are words used liberally in our market, but they are concepts we take seriously with every release,” added Harrington. “Staying in synch with our ecosystem partners like Databricks and CESMII are proof of this.” The Databricks Zerobus connector offers direct, low-latency streaming ingest into Delta tables without intermediate event streaming services. The release also includes i3X support, the app-centric API standard being developed through CESMII, making the Intelligence Hub one of the first industrial software products to ship with an i3X Server.

HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.4 is available now. All new features and capabilities introduced in version 4.4 are included in standard pricing. Please contact HighByte or an authorized distributor to start a trial or purchase a subscription license.
