MetLife Names Jordan Canter Head of Federal Government Affairs and Regulatory Policy

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) announced that Jordan Canter will join as head of Federal Government Affairs and Regulatory Policy, effective April 20. She will oversee MetLife’s federal government affairs and global regulatory policy, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the company’s business priorities. Based in Washington, D.C., Canter will report to Susan Greenwell, senior vice president and head of Global Government Affairs.

“As the policy and regulatory environment continues to grow more complex, strong coordination across federal advocacy and regulatory policy is essential,” said Greenwell. “Jordan brings deep experience navigating public policy, regulatory issues, and industry engagement, which will be instrumental as we continue to advance MetLife’s priorities with federal policymakers and regulators.”

Canter comes to MetLife from Allstate, where she held senior positions overseeing federal government affairs and public policy. In these roles, she led initiatives addressing a broad spectrum of financial services and insurance matters. Her background includes extensive collaboration with Congress, federal agencies, and industry stakeholders to influence and shape legislative and regulatory outcomes. Before joining Allstate in 2022, Canter honed her expertise in government affairs and regulatory policy at both The Hartford and Bank Policy Institute (formerly the Financial Services Roundtable).

Canter holds a bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College.
