Tema Appoints ETF Industry Leader Steve Munroe as President

Appointment Supports Next Phase of Growth Following a Breakout Year in 2025

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tema ETFs (“Tema”), a leader in institutional-quality and actively managed exchange-traded funds, today announced the appointment of Steve Munroe as President.

In this role, Mr. Munroe will partner with Tema Founder and CEO Maurits Pot and the firm’s leadership team to accelerate the company’s next phase of growth. He will oversee branding, marketing, distribution, and product strategy as Tema continues to gain momentum—raising more than $1 billion in net new assets over the past six months from institutional and intermediary clients.

“Tema builds differentiated, institutional-grade ETF solutions designed to help portfolios adapt across market environments,” said Mr. Pot. “Steve is an accomplished leader in our industry, with a proven record of growth, innovation, and attracting top talent. His experience will be invaluable as we scale our business.”

Prior to joining Tema, Mr. Munroe served as Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer at ProShares. Previously, he led marketing at Global X, where over nine years he helped elevate the firm from an early-stage provider into a globally recognized ETF brand. Before entering the ETF industry, Mr. Munroe held marketing and research roles at Liberty Mutual Insurance and Kantar (formerly Marketing and Planning Systems).

“ETFs are a foundational building block—empowering investors and driving profound change across asset and wealth management,” said Jan Hammer, Partner at Index Ventures. “Tema pairs deep investment expertise with resourceful execution to deliver differentiated solutions for modern portfolios. Steve brings rare capabilities and a proven track record that will help take Tema to the next level.”

“The ETF landscape has never felt more crowded—or been more competitive,” said Mr. Munroe. “It’s a testament to Maurits and his team that Tema’s products resonate so strongly with investors. I’m excited to help bring Tema’s distinct investment approach to a wider audience.”
